  • What are you trying to skip that isn't being skipped properly?  If you open up ZTIGather.xml (under Scripts in the Deployment Share), at Line 147 and below, you can see the definition of all the Skip<X> properties and what the values they take are.

  • Thanks for reply,

I'm new on the product, and a hurry project need to deploy many clients with various configurations.

Just read something which you replied on MDT 2012 U1 - Conditional Rules  (customsettings.ini / bootstrap.ini)

I even did not do to apply rule by customsettings.ini

  • Hi,

You can use the help system for that:

    • Press F1 anywhere in MDT Workbench
    • Expand Toolkit Reference -> Properties
    • Click the help page named "Providing Properties for Skipped Deployment Wizard Pages"

This page has a table of SkipXxxxx properties and the minimum porperties you need to provide answers for each on the righthand side.

Us this table to provice the answers in CustomSettings.ini.

    Hope this helps,

    Martin

  • Alright, a few issues from what I see....

    • CustomSettings.ini is missing the [Settings] area.  Add this at the very top:
    [Settings]
    Priority=Default

    • SkipLocaleSelection can't be set in BootStrap.ini, just CustomSettings.ini or MDT DB.
    • You set KeyBoardLocale twice in BootStrap.ini.  Set it one way or the other.
    • SkipAppOnUpgrade doesn't exist.
    • SkipDeploymentType has a typo.  The 'w' at the end should be an 'e'.
    • SkipCrederitials has a typo, but SkipCredentials doesn't exist anyway.

Note that the default for almost all the Skip<X> values is already NO, so you only really need to set it explicitly if you want it to be YES.

  • I'm glad your problem was resolved by recreating the deployment share, but I'd like to understand why this happens to help others in the future with this issue (since I've seen a few posts on it recently and this seems to be the current "go to" answer).  MDT is mostly scripts (ts.xml, Unattend.xml, \Scripts, CustomSettings.ini) and a few .EXE files the Workbench puts in place.  Hopefully, a quick comparison between "bad" and "good" should reveal what's wrong and give an indication to the actual root cause.

If you still have the "bad" deployment share and are willing to send me some files and spend a little time gathering the information, shoot me an email (DCtheGeek@outlook.com) and maybe we can resolve this easier for others in the future. : )
