Can I use multiple OUs for password reset?

    Question

  • I am in a process of implementing FIM.

The setup will include Password Reset, User on-boarding and off boarding.

While going through the guides, it is stated to create a new OU for password reset users. I was just curious if my AD configuration holds multiple OUs, is possible to accommodate all the OUs therein? Or we specifically need a single OU to enable password reset?

  • Hello,

Yes, you can use multiple OUs for password reset.

    But be aware of:

    • Users must be present in FIMService/Portal and joined to an AD Account
    • Enable Password management on AD MA
    • Adapt the set "Password Reset Users Set" if need (include all users by default)

Will this need more than one Sync Rule?
