Right click on a server endpoint greyed out

    Question

  • I installed the SCCM 2012 client on a few Windows Servers, when I right-click on the server object in the SCCM manager console, the "Endpoint Protection" option is greyed out.  If I do this on a desktop computer, I have the option to do scans, etc.  Is there a setting or policy I missed somewhere?  Thanks.

  • Is there anything listed on the "Endpoint Protection" tab (in the lower part of the console) if you highlight such a server in a collection? What does "EP Deployment State" tell?

  • They all say "unmanaged".  But I think I found the issue, my custom client setting for servers was not deployed to all servers so I deployed it to the correct collection and I'm seeing servers go to "managed" now.  Thanks for give me the clue!

  • Is endpoint protection deployed to these server devices?

  • Yes, it looks like the policy specific to servers has deployed to the server endpoints also.
