Monday, May 21, 2012 2:38 PMWhich version of Microsoft Office do you have? The Calendar Control was included with Office 2007 and before, but only in the editions that included Microsoft Access, so not with Office Home and Student or Office Home and Business. And the Calendar Control has been discontinued in Office 2010.

Monday, May 21, 2012 3:13 PMWhat happens if you create a new workbook and insert the calendar control on a worksheet or on a userform in the Visual Basic Editor? Can you see the dates?

It's not that complicated.
- Create a new workbook.
- Activate the Developer tab of the ribbon. (See http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/show-the-developer-tab-or-run-in-developer-mode-HA010173052.aspx if you don't see it)
- Click Insert > More Controls (the button in the lower right corner of the ActiveX section).
- Scroll down until you see Calendar Control 12.0.
- Select it, then click OK.
- Click in the worksheet.
- You should now have a calendar control.
- Click to unhighlight the Design Mode button on the ribbon.
Can you see the dates on the calendar control?
(You can discard this workbook when you're done with it)

Thanks for testing that - we now know that the problem is not with the calendar control itself.
Is there a conspicuous difference between your PC and that of your colleagues? Different Windows version, different Office version, other aspects?

Tuesday, May 29, 2012 1:27 PMWe had to add mscal.ocx to my computer to even give me the ability to use the calendar without breaking the tool in the actual spreadsheet.

Has the calendar control been registered correctly? Try the following:
In Windows, select Start | Run...
Type the following, then press Enter or click OK
regsvr32 mscal.ocx

-
Tuesday, May 29, 2012 3:52 PMThat means that an incorrect version of mscal.ocx has been installed. Try copying mscal.ocx from a computer where it works that has the same version of Microsoft Office to your computer (from C:\Windows\System32 to C:\Windows\System32). Then try registering it again.
