    Hi There,

    One of the customer is planning to migrate from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010. Customer also want to ingest user PST's into Exchange 2010 Personal Archives.

    Infact I have reffered http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/en-us/email-archiving-and-retention.aspx But need to get some more details:

    • What is the recommendation by Microsoft for moving bulk pst into Exchange 2010 Personal Archive?
    • If customer's legacy infrastructure have many PST files that he need to Migrate to Exchange (on premises or in the cloud), is there any automation process / scripting / migration tools which we can use?
    • Can this PST migration be automated via creating a Portal (By using SharePoint)?

    Microsoft Exchange PST Capture allows you to search for PST files on computers in your organization and then import those files to mailboxes in your organization. PST Capture works with both on-premises Exchange servers and Exchange Online.

    There isn't such a recommenation which I have come across. You need to consider this yourself taking into consideration server resouces and scenarios such as, disk space, backups, etc...

    You can use the PST capture tool here

    As for automation, this is something which would need to be looked into as there isn't a native solution which can do this unless you use a 3rd party product.

    Is it possible? If yes, then how? Should we use SharePoint 2010.

    You can customise but this isn't something that can be done in this forum or probably in any forum.  This is a project in itself which needs to be planned and developed.

    Short answers are the above, if you're looking for a dev site/portal you will need to engage a consultancy to do this or if you have in-house skills, need to reach out to them.
