    Exchange 2010 SP1

We have one forest but with one empty root domain and one child domain (all users and computers are located in child domain).

just found out the discoverysearchmailbox is created in root domain and I tried to get the results after performing a multi-mailboxes search.

I can not open it and wonder is there a way to move this discoverysearchmailbox to the child domain?

Does the discoverysearchmailbox have to be on the root domain?

    Thank you.

Mailboxes arent in an AD domain, their associated AD accounts are.

That being said, you should still be able to open it wherever it is. Do you have the necessary permissions to open the mailbox? Did you add yourself to the Discovery Management Role Group and verify that you have full mailbox access to the Discovery Mailbox?

    Hi,

    >Do you have the necessary permissions to open the mailbox?

    full mailbox access

    >Did you add yourself to the Discovery Management Role Group and verify that you have full mailbox access to the Discovery Mailbox?

Yes. but I still got the error "your mailbox appears to be unavailabe. try to access it again in 10 seconds. If you see this error again, contact your helpdesk."

I did create another one in the child domain and I tried to open the search results and it says" I do not have permission to open it"

How can I get the search results?

    Thank you.

If you have full mailbox access and this Exchange 2010 SP1 and above, you should see it automatically added to Outlook. If it isnt, restart Outlook and check again.

Also, when you get the Mailbox Unavailable errror in OWA, check the URL its trying to open and see if that is valid.

Are you sure you have full mailbox access to the Discovery Mailbox? That would indicate you do not.

    Hi

Did you follow what A_D_ suggest?

Also you could export the mailbox to a PST, then deleted and re-created it.

    Cheers

remove the user and add it back to full permission and it worked.

    Thank you.
