Design Exchange 2010
Dear All,
I need to do an Exchange 2010 design which will serve 5000 mailboxes. The design will be centralize, High - available, published through ISA 2006 and Forefront will be used for AV/AS.
Now there are some points which I have to mentioned:
1- Installation will be from scratch, there are no Exchange system used now.
2- Louts Note is used now, we have to migrate the mailboxes from Louts to Exchange.
3- Louts Note is have his own directory service, it's not depended in the current Active Directory
4- There are one forest and a parent domain "ABC.com" and a child domain "child.ABC.com".
Can we discuses a good design together which can be used .
Thanks

- First question is will Lotus migration to Exchange 2010, I haven't seen any supporting information for this quite yet.
Second question is how big are your databases for the 5000 users?
Next question is how many different AD sites do you have and how many users in each AD site?
Also, any VM in your environment? Do you use IM/Chat/Presence/UM/UC?
Please provide us with more information on your organization so we can give you a good idea of what needs to be done.

2- 300 MB for each mailbox
3- there are 10 site, anyhow; Exchange will be only in central place and nothing will be install in sites
4- no VM until now. UM required- You could virtualize most of your exchange roles. UM isn't technically support but I hear a lot of users using it.
If it is going to be centralized then I have to ask what your connection speeds are like between your other ten sites. How many users in these remote sites? How do these users access their mailbox? OWA? Outlook Anywhere?
is your AD environment a empty forest root? Where do the users reside? In the root? In the child? both?
What are your requirments around HA/redundancy? How many VM Hosts do you have?
