Our environment is about 2000 Exchange 2003 mailboxes with a few hundred remote users. We want to start exploring the idea of moving our Exchange environment to the Microsoft cloud for Exchange services and maybe Sharepoint also. I havent been able to really find much information on it. Does anyone have any positive or negative experiences to share? Any advantages or disadvantages to moving your exchange environment to the cloud? Thanks.

You might want to post this question in one of the Online forums for Exchange or Sharepoint:
My 2 cents...There are pro and cons. Pros being that you do not have to manage it, back it up, update it, worry about SLAs, worry about AV/SPAM, design HA or DR. There are costs associated with each one of those points. All of this is provided by the service. As far as cons, a lot of companies don't like the idea of MS having their data. Also there are some feature gaps associated with the cloud. Note that the Exchange Online offering will be getting a refresh in the coming months to 2010 (it is based on Exch 2007 right now).
Here is a good place to start:
