Maintaining Quorum DAG members across AG sites

    SITE I - Primary
    Two: C/HT/MB
    One: FSW

    SITE II - CoLocation
    Two: CAS
    Two: HT/MB
    One: Alt. FSW

Now if site two goes down due to power outage.. Primary flies solo, no problem
But, if during the power outage ONE of the servers in Primary reboot/fail.. we loose node majority.. mail fails.. we need to restart cluster service in forced quorum (/fq) and evict a DAG node.

What is the best solution?  Adding two more mailbox servers in Primary?

    Hello,

What you can do is to use two DAG.

    let's say:

    • DAG1: two MBX in Site 1 and one MBX in Site 2. Witness server in Site 1
    • DAG2: two MBX in Site 2 and one MBX in Site 1. Witness server in Site 2

On DAG1, add mailboxes of users in Site 1 on its databases.

On DAG2, add mailboxes of users in Site 2 on its databases.

Like that, if a site is down then the second site will not be down and you will have a passive copy of databases of the down site.
