    Hi All,

I am currently working on a proof of concept trial for Exchange 2010.  I have already installed Exchange 2007 in a multi-role server installation and confirmed that it is working correctly.  In preparing to install Exchange 2010 I am reading a number or articles that say you need to install the CAS role first, however I was going to be installing a multi-role server installation again.  Do I still need to install the CAS role, and then install the other roles at a later time afte rconfiguring the CAS components?

    Cheers

    Hi,
NO, It's perfectly fine to run a typical installation when installing the first Exchange 2010 Server, if it's going to be a multi-role server. No need to install the CAS role separately.
