Sender ID (PRA) Not Permitted

It is a bit confusing. When I registered to this domain "globalsign.com" , I received an automated welcome email confirming my successful registration, and that's it any other email send from any support of that company to me it bounce back to them (the sender) with the following:

I'm lost, what "google" has to do with this? Is there anything I can set in our Exchange 2010 to let this email or domain go through?

Event 12025 and 14 instances of Event 12027 on restart

On each restart of an Exchange 2010 server running on Windows Server 2008R2, Event 12025 and 14 instances of Event 12027 recur. This also happens when the MSExchangeTransport service is started. Each instance of Event 12027 references a different category of performance counter.

Event 12025 text: Transport service is disconnecting performance counters with process lifetime from their old process.

Event 12027 text: Transport service did not disconnect performance counters with process lifetime in category: <category name> from their old process since the file mapping for the performance counter was not found.

How to eliminate these events?

Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 migration and, OOF/OAB issues

Just recently migrated an office off of exchange 2003 to a fresh install of exchange 2010 (CAS/HT/MB) on 08 R2. Outlook 2003 and 2007 clients are experiencing issues with out of office and offline address book.

If they try to open OOF the error returned is "Your out of office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later"

If they try to download the OAB we see " Task 'steveb@domain.com' reported error (0x8004010F) : 'The operation failed. An object cannot be found.'

I've used the outlook 2007 auto configuration test which passes fine, testexchangeconnectivity passes fine as well. I'm pretty certain autodiscover is working correctly. What else do I need to look at?

Some things to note about our environment... We have another exchange server different site same domain, 2007 running CAS/HT/MB. We host mail for several clients, we do have address lists segregated and filtered by group. I have already looked at permissions on the new OAL on the 2010 server and they do appear correct.

Hello!

I have a freshly configured installation of Exchange 2010 running on Server 2008 R2.

OWA works beautifully, with SSL enabled.

My problem is, when using a smartphone device to sync to my exchange server, I get an error.

"Result: ActiveSync encountered a problem on the server. Support code: 0x85010014".

Any assistance is much appreciated.

I was trying to install Exchange 2010 on a 2008 server RC2. I followed a tutorial on: http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2010/migration-deployment/installing-exchange-server-2010-beta-part2.html how to install it. I followed it all, bud i think it is not intergrated in my AD.

I dont see any option to execute exchange task from ADUC. Like this: http://www.u-btech.com/images/stories/screen-shots/exchange-tasks-2007-context-menu.jpg

I can add mailboxes to users from the Exchange Manageent Console, bud not from ADUC.

You someone please advice me, or tell me what I did wrong?

I have tried searching the technet database for answers but I either didnt understand them or I was missing the answer. I am currently running an Exchange 2007 enviroment and have been looking into going to Exchange 2010. Can I upgrade my existing exchange server to 2010 one? It sits on a 2003 server 64-bit box.

Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010

Since I can remember, we've ran Windows Server 2003 with Exchange 2003.
We are getting ready to upgrade to Exchange 2010 which will be installed on a W2K8 box.

During this process we will be moving AD domains.
We're moving from domain.com to corp.domain.com

We are opting to not use any automated migration applications. The current Exchange server has some very odd problems that we don't want to risk populating over to the new Exchange server. We have 10 medium size mailboxes and are heavy users of public folders. We have already manually rebuilt our AD users and groups. We're ready for the Exchange server.

The domain.com environment consists of 1 AD/domain controller and 1 Exchange 2003 server. (This is the setup we are using today)
The corp.domain.com environment consists of 2 AD/domain controllers (for redundency), and as far as I know it's ready for the Exchange 2010 server.

There are no other members of the domain(essentially all we're using our DC for is Exchange and some file share authentication).
We run 10 medium size mailboxes

My Question(s):

-Are there any "gotcha's" that come to mind?
-We want to preserve our current email addresses (user@domain.com)! I need some hand holding in this area, this is my weak spot. If I remember correctly, won't Exchange want to make all the email address user@corp.domain.com? Can i have 2 Exchange servers, in different domains, that serve the same email addresses? Does that make sense?
-I'm expecting some downtime. Although we are small enough that this is not a huge problem, i'd like to get everything prep'd, set up, installed, updated, and configured. Then, in one sweep, manually move over the mailboxes and public folders. Is this possible?

CAS Redundancy across 2 sites

We are starting from scratch going from a 3rd Party POP3 provider to in-house Exchange 2010. We have 2 sites, site A connects to the Internet and site B connects to site A for Internet. Our initial plan is to have an exchange server at both sites running Server 2008 R2 Enterprise on each server to utilize DAG. My question is how to get CAS to be redundant if the server at site A goes down. Do we install CAS on Hyper V on our 2008 R2 domain controllers and run NLB between the two sites, or can our PIX 515E at site A be setup to route traffic to both Exchange Servers. Or is there any other configurations out there that might work? Thank you in advance for any assistance!

Hello Everyone,

I am facing a weird issue with Get-OWAVirtualDirectory on an Exchange 2010 RC1 box. This server has MBX, CAS, and HT role installed on it. Server belongs to a mixed mode organization of Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007 SP2. When I click on Client Access node under server configuration node it returns the same errror as it does with the PS. Error looks like below;

Public Folders - High Availability?

Previously used XC2003 clustering so no problem with PF's becoming unavailable to clients when PF database hosted on the cluster.
However as I understand it clients under XC2010 will still be sent directly to the particular PF database that is specified in their host mailbox database rather than go through the CAS since PF can't be part of a DAG.

This would mean that while the users will seamlessly reconnect to their mailbox when using DAG and active server fails entirely, if the active server also hosted the PF database for the mailbox database then I'd have to manually update the mailbox databases to point to a replicated PF database?

And obviously this would be visible to the users since they'd get the "Your administrator has made a change that requires you to restart Outlook" message.
Not a problem in a datacentre failover obviously but a bit of a pain if I just want to move the active databases so I can patch a server.

Any way around this?

Hello,

I have a completely new test exchange environment with this servers:
DC - Windows server 2008 r2 standard (DNS, ADDS, ADCS, IIS) dc.mydomain.dom
Extarnal DNS with public zone ns.mydomain.com
Exchange 2010 server (CAS, HT, MB, UM) mail.mydomain.dom/mail.mydomain.com

Installed the server, and configuring accepted domains (external mydomain.com ), remote domains, send connector.
The incoming and outgoing mails work correctly with OWA.

I would like to connect from my home with outlook 2010 beta (on non-domain member windows 7) to this exchange server.
Ask and type my credentials to autodiscover.mydomain.com . Accepted.
Ask again the credentials for mail.mydomain.dom (internal domain). After I type my credentials got a warning message:
The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or conected to complete this action.
Than I click ok, come one settigs window that asked the Microsoft Exchange server address and mailbox.
I give the mail.mydomain.com for the exchange address and my username and click to "check name" button. I got the same error message.

For me strange that I try connecting remotely, but the outlook try to connect my exchange server inner FQDN (mail.mydomain.dom ) address yet.
This is logical that can't connect through the internet to local domain.

My question:
How can I setup the autodiscover service that I can connect any outlook client through the internet to my Exchange server?

I currently have 3 servers on the network, the main server which basically does everything, a database server, and the new server i am putting exchange on. Active directory is on the main server which runs server 2003, as does the database server. The exchange server runs server 2008 R2. I have searched all 3 servers and cannot find any previous versions of exchange server.

How can I find the previous version of exchange that is causing this error and remove it?

I'm trying to get OWA Exchange 2010 working.
But when i try to connect to my mailbox i get the following errors:

Exchange 2010 DisasterRecovery

Hi,

Setup: Hyper-V host running my child dc site1.company.com and exch2010.site1.company.com

I did a full install of Exch2010 and was busy doing the setup when I made some database name changes and in the process killed Exchange. I tried to revert back to a earlier snap point in Hyper-V however corrupted the image was not able to use it anymore. So I deleted the Exch2010 VHD from the host and started over.

My problem is that trying to do a disaster recovery / server restore is not working. I get heaps of errors and I have tried a assortment of different things all with no luck. My current posistion is that when I run setup I get the following error:

Some controls are not valid:
- Setup previously failed while performing the action "DisasterRecovery". You can't resume setup my performing the action "Install"
- Setup previously failed while performing the action "Uninstall". You can't resume setup my performing the action "Install"

Can anyone give me a step by ste solution to get my Exchange back to its default installtion setup please?

I called MS partner support line but they don't support it yet.

I am sure this is answered somewhere out there but I've had no luck finding the answer...

I am bulk creating mailboxes in a new Ex2010 organization where the Exchange GUI is automating the alias. Problem is that it is using an alias like Firstname?Lastname instead of the traditional samAccountName attribute. This is different than our old environment of Exchange 2003.

Anyone know how to make the alias always be the same as the samAccountName?

wildcard certifictae invalid for Exchange use

Hi,
I have an exchange 2010 server and a wildcard certificate from Comodo. If I import the certificate in EMC it completes ok but the management console says "the certificate server is invalid for exchange server usage, and will not let me assign the certificate to any services. If I check the certificate in the MMC it says its valid and if I assign the certificate through powershell it works fine with OWA, but not with activesync.
i created a self signed and tested activesync (installed the root cert on my phone) and it works fine so its not my activesync config.

Are wildcard certs supported on Exchange 2010. I was under the impression they are.
anyone encounter this or have any ideas?

Exchange 2010 - Outlook 2010 Beta x64

I'm struggling to get a mailbox exported (or imported) with Exchange 2010 + Office 2010 Beta x64. At first attempt I got an error stating that the server needed to have Outlook 2010 x64 installed to do an import/export. Misreading the server portion I setup a Win7 Test box, installed Outlook 2010 x64 Beta and the Exchange Management Tools. When I tried another export from teh Win7 box I received the same error as before, read it more clearly and installed Outlook 2010 x64 Beta on the Test Exchange Server, I'm not getting the following error when attempting to Import/Export: "Error occurred in the step: Approving object. An unknown error has occurred., error code: -2147221219"

I read that it may be a permissions issues, but I explicitly set permissions on one Mailbox I was trying to export and there was no change, the other possible solution was trying running fixmapi, but I also read that it does nothing on when run on the Exchange server. This is all in a test Domain somewhat replicating our prod environment, with a Brand New Server 2003 Domain, Windows 2008 R2 with Exchange 2010 + Outlook 2010 Beta installed a couple of clients all running in VMWare.

I'm unsure if this is a MAPI issue, but it seems somewhat likely - possibly an issue between the Beta and the Exchange Server?

Hello!

I currently have Exchange 2010 set up, with OWA/SSL working great in a browser.

My CAS is set up to have Outlook Anywhere enabled.

The issue at hand, is when I try to use Outlook to connect to my Exchange server from outside the domain (and even Outlook inside the domain), I get errors about not being able to connect to my Exchange server.

I'd really like to just start with fixing the issue with Outlook on a computer in the domain, and then tackle Outlook Anywhere after.

My current setup has:

1) DC/DHCP/DNS Server
2) Web/CAS Server
3) Exchange 2010 Server
4-*) Various workstations

Any help is appreciated, as I'm new at configuring Exchange. Thanks!

OWA 2010 Problem (Scroll Bars)

We have several users that access OWA 2010 via Windows XP & IE8. All patches are applied. On certain computer systems, the user experiences a condition where the scroll bars in OWA 2010 do not work at all (they are whited out). You must use the arrow keys to move between messages. This condition is computer specific and cannot be replicated on all other machines. The strange part is that there is a variety of system images, model types, etc. in use so there does not seem to be a common thread. These users did not have any problems with OWA 2007.

We have tried to reset all IE8 settings to their defaults, reboot, etc. Any ideas?

i'm having a problem with implementing Exchange2010 and Exchange 2003 coexistance.
I have an Exchange 2003 SP2 in one AD Site/Subnet (Windows 2003 SP2). Now, i have to migrate this Exchange to another Exchange server, wich is in another AD site/subnet (same domain), and has Exchange 2010 installed (Windows 2008R2).
For the old Exchange i have in place the legacy DNS setting: oldcas.domain.com (previously was: exchange.domain.com)
The DNS entry pointing to new exchange is: exchange.domain.com

I have enabled Outlook Anywhere on the Ex2010 server. I have both servers set up with correct certificates (EX2003 has a certificate with common name oldcas.domain.com; EX2010 has certificate with common name exchange.domain.com (and autodiscover.domain.com) - btw. our internal domain and external domain have the same name)).

I have no problems with OWA - if EX2003 users connect to https://exchange.domain.com/owa - they get redirected to https://oldcas.domain.com/exchange without any problems. However, its not that easy with Outlook Anywhere - the HTTPS proxy is set to exchange.domain.com in Outlook. If EX2010 user connects, theres no problem. But when a Ex2003 user connects, after prompting for credentials Outlook waits for a while, and then complains that Exchange server is not available. If i set the HTTPS proxy to oldcas.domain.com in EX2003 users Outlook, it once agin works OK. Havent been able to make it work through EX2010 though - since i'm not keen to reconfigure all our outlooks, the option to change the HTTPS proxy for EX2003 users, is not viable.

Any thoughts? Any more info needed?
Are there any logs i can see - what happens during the time, when EX2003 user tries to connect; or some troublshooting tools?

Recurring resource booking fails.

I am having an issue with the way that the Resource Booking Attendant is processing recurring appointments. We have a resources setup to allow conflicted bookings. This works fine for individual meeting request. However, when reoccurring meeting requests are submitted, any date that has a conflict is declined. I found a thread about this issue on Exchange 2007 and Microsoft stated this was by design (link). Apparently for meetings that are recurring, the Booking attendant determines in-policy based on the entire series and will always reject an individual event in a series if it conflicts

Has anyone gotten this to work without manual delegation? This is really annoying and seems to be counterintuitive to what is considered "In Policy".

Hi, I have a question regarding the Schema Upgrade included with Exchange 2007 Service Pack 2.

Exchange Configuration
1. Exchange 2007 SP1 running on Windows 2003 R2 Member Servers
2. All domain controllers are Windows 2003 SP2

If I upgrade to Exchange 2007 SP2 which upgrades the AD Schema, will I still need to upgrade the schema when I deploy a Windows 2008 R2 Domain Controller?

Clicking the tabs in the Mailbox settings page under Organization Configuration locks up entire server

I haven't played with this extensively to pick up on any detailed trends, but I have replicated the problem many times, and I am wondering if it is a bug, or if I'm just doing something wrong. When I am in the EMC, in the Mailbox section underneath Organization Configuration, if I click around between the tabs, particularly the Managed Default Folders, it locks up the entire server, and I have to reset the power through VMWare to reboot the server. I can't even do a Ctrl-Alt-Delete and close out the EMC; it locks the whole thing up.

Has anyone else experienced this? At first I thought something had gotten corrupted when we upgraded the mailbox servers from Server 2008 R2 Standard to R2 Enterprise (to use the DAG functionality). So I rebuilt the mailbox servers, and the problem still exists on the new servers, which were originally built as R2 Enterprise servers.

Transaction logs not deleted, VSS Full is being used

I have a scheduled backup to a dedicated volume that runs nightly and it always completes successfully, but the transaction logs are not deleted.

I am using VSS Full Backup on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise.

I know very little about Exchange, but have been asked to install 2010 RC1 by my boss, on a new windows 2008 server box. Everything was going fine, I created a user to try and test sending an email from the new user to Administrator account through OWA, at some point soon after this, I went back to the EMC, and noticed that it does not give me anything under Organisation Configuration (except Hub Transport which is grayed out). It tells me I dont have sufficient permissions to view this data, However I am logged in with the main administrator account I used to install everything on this server.

Also I dont see Server Configuration at all. All I can look and configure is Recipient Configuration.

Any ideas ? Its probably something really simple to do with permissions...

EMC failed after install

Hi, I'm running server 2008 R2 and tried installing Exchange 2010. After (what seemed to be) a good install, I tried to open the Exchange Management Console. I got the following error (translated from Dutch):

Initialization failed. The following error occurred when searching for On-Premises Exchange server: Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : Cannot process the request. Cannot determine the content type of the HTTP response from the destination computer. The content type is absent or invalid. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topc. It was running the command 'Discover-ExchangeServer -UseWIA $true -SuppressError $true'

I tried everything mentioned in this post: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchange2010/thread/78e5cee2-a310-4187-80ff-b310645ccb5b, but nothing seems to help.

Can anyone solve this problem?

Recently we have been at cross roads with some of our clients on whether to upgrade their existing Exchange Server 2003 Infrastructure to Exchange 2007 or 2010.

1- Please, what is your recommendation on this ?

In May 11 2009, at Tech Ed in Los Angeles, Microsoft Vice President for Windows Business (Bill Veghte) advised customers who have not upgraded to Exchange 2007 to skip it and wait for Exchange 2010.

2 - Where can i locate this speech online ?

Customising the logon page of OWA in Exchange 2010

It there anywhere a How to to customize the logon page of OWA 2010, I wish to Add a company logo and name to the page., migration from exchange 2003 TO Exchange 2010 was a breeze. It went without a problem.

All I need to do now is add a company logo to the OWA logon page and my client will be happy, They are now :)
