    The following is being observed:

    1. Emails sent from Outlook do not show in the Sent Items folder for 5-15mins but show instantly in the corresponding folder on OWA and on the Blackberry
    2. Synchronization appears to get stuck showing ??/?? downloading. This does not appear to be due to downloading large attachments, Especially for the users with 16MB connections. Rebuild of databases has been attempted with no change.

    mac office version is 2011 - 14.2.1

How do you have EWS load balancing configured? There's more than one CAS right? What's between the client and the CAS? Firewall? Router? What, and how is it configured for affinity and timeouts?

Does TMG have a web farm configured with both CAS in it? Or does TMG publish/forward traffic to one VIP/IP which then routes to CAS?

it forwards to the virtual IP

Well that could be it. If the load balancer/router or whatever it is switches the connection between CAS's for any reason (timeout for example) then the client connection is broken. Why is there a router/VIP between TMG and CAS?

Well no, but it seems like the most likely casue to me right now. You lost TMG configuration?

I would suggest you look at our publishing Exchange using TMG guidance. We recommend you configure a Web Farm, don't use TMG to forward to a VIP, that way TMG can handle affinity and load balancing.

Ok, so it's a web Farm, with two members? What is Load Balancing set to on the Web Farm tab? Are there any network devices between TMG and CAS? You said a router?
  • Friday, May 11, 2012 7:27 PM

router is Before TMG ... its

Router ==> TMG ==> Exchange LAN

i would still ask one things is there any way that i can check my load balancing of CAS like how its working.. becoz after my config store gone m not able to see any thing from TMg .. plz advise

    Thanks

As I said earlier, "What is Load Balancing set to on the Web Farm tab?"

It should be IP, not cookie. If it is, and you still see issues, you should open a case to troubleshoot the cause of teh connection failure. and check all network devices you control for timeouts thta are too low.
