    Hello,

We had two Exchange Servers 2007 SP1 on Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition SP2. The first Exchange Server was successfully upgraded to Servicepack 2. During the installation of the second one, we got a confused error message:
    >>>original message<<<
    Hub-Transport-Serverfunktion     ......................... FEHLER
Fehler mit dem Fehlercode 3221684238 und der Fehlermeldung Für diesen Vorga
ng ist nicht genügend Speicher verfügbar..
    <<<

    translation:
    >>>
    Hub Transport server role... FAULT
Errors with the error code 3221684238 and the error message for this operation is not enough memory available..
    <<<

What does that mean? We have about 8GB RAM and not all is used. At the moment only 2GB RAM (Exchange Server is not running). There are also four drives and all drives have between 7 and 12 GB free of space.

I tried already a search for the error code (no results) and the error message. But both didn't help me to find a solution.

edit: The server is running the Client Access Role, Hub Transport Role, Mailbox Role and Transport Role. All with SP1 and Rollup 9. We have two DC (Windows Server 2008 Forest).

    Please for help.
    regards, Reisenhofer Andreas

     Answer
I found the solution by the help of a Microsoft Support call.

I followed the Microsoft Knowledge Articel: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=935744
After a restart of the server, I was able to install SP2 successfully. Now all seams to be Ok.

I will try the Exchange Baseline Analyser for more information about my Environment, but I think there should be no more problems...
    regards, Reisenhofer Andreas

On the drive F:\ is about 12GB free of space. The total size is about 40 GB. During setup I didn't find any "08.02.0176" folder.

Is it a CCR cluster? or just standalone servers?  Did you tried rebooting the box and tried? it could be Windows resource error

It is a standalone Server. No Cluster...

Yes I tried rebooting the box and "reupgrade" to SP2. => The same error.

On the other Exchange server please make sure you have disabled the IPV 6 and Antivirus is not messing up with setup
