Exchange 2007 on Windows SBS 2008
- Anyone have any experience setting up and configuring it? Can someone please write a quick layout on how to configure it? The problem I am running into is that when I try to configure "connect to the net" on sbs 2k8, it says to disable DHCP. My current network has 1 DC running win serv 2k3 w/ DHCP & DNS already activated. If I disable DHCP, all the user workstations will drop a connection. Should I have the new sbs 2k8 server become the primary DC? Can I have 2 different scopes of DHCP? 1 on the old srv and 1 on the new srv? Please help! Thanks.

Yes, I used to work as a Small Business Specialist before going back to the enterprise with Exchange 2007. Microsoft has a "quick layout": Windows Small Business Server 2008 Installation Guide

But before we go on: You are actually facing two issues: (1) DHCP and (2) technically a migration to SBS 2008. None of these issues are related specific to the Exchange forum. You should post your questions in the SBS 2008 news group (for links, see below).
(1) DHCP. You have to temporarily disable the DHCP server on your 2K3 box while you are installing SBS 2008. It is recommended to run the DHCP server on SBS. You can have two different scopes, for instance 10.0.0.1 - 10.0.0.100 on the first and 10.0.0.101 - 10.0.0.254 on the second. While you disable yurDHCP server, your clients are unlikely to loose their IP information. Leases are usaaly configured to be eight days. You could force all your clients to renew them before your start off with the SBS installation.
(2) SBS 2008 has to be the master DC, running all the five FSMOs. You can have an additional DC (which makes next-to-no sense in a single site). You can not have any trust between domains / forests. It is no trivial task to install SBS 2008 into an existing domain. If you have few users, your best bet is to install SBS 2008 with a new internal domain name. Create all users on SBS. Point all user's Outlook profile to the SBS Exchange server (will be no single sign-on). Move the user's profiles gradually to SBS, finally decommission your W2K3 DC and make it a member server of your SBS domain.
If you still feel like installing SBS into an existing domain, to the best of my knowledge Microsoft has document describing this process. However, you can find detailed information in "Windows Small Business Server 2008 Unleashed:"
