We run Exchange 2007 with  CCR over 2 servers (Windows 2003 R2 x64 Enterprise with SP2).

    Servers name is : SERVER01 and SERVER02

    Virtual node is : SERVER00

We use Arcserve 11.5 Sp3 for the backup.

this is all steps I do to install the agent at the servers

    1. Install the exchange agent at the Active exchange server (SERVER01)

    2. Failover (make SERVER01 Passive, make SERVER02 Active)

    3. Restart the passive server (SERVER01)

    4. Install the exchange agent at Active Server (SERVER02)

    5. failover (make SERVER01 Active, make SERVER02 Passive)

    6. Restart the passive Server (SERVER02).

    NOW:

    7. add SERVER01 and SERVER02 and SERVER03 to the Brightstore Manager.

    my problem is :

    a. the exchange server not appear at the SERVER01 and SERVER02

    b. it's just appear at the SERVER00

i try to a backup using the node appear at the SERVER00 but the job was failed :

AE9683             07/27/2008 03:07:24 AM 10935    86       All DBs are dismounted, or there is no DB at all.

please, really i need to help from all

    Regard's

    Ramzi

I hate to say "contact your vendor", but..... have you contacted the vendor?  I have not seen this error on other backup products.   It looks like Arcserve is not properly recognizing that SERVER00 is a clustered mailbox server.

Sorry to bring this one up from the dead, but I am sure that there are some folks out there that this might help.  I discovered that by enabling "Enable Remote Streaming Backup" (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998870.aspx) allows the Passive Node to be backed up.  That error code AE9683 is identified on CA's support site.  Look up CA's Knowledge Base Article TEC463623.

This also affects ArcServe 11.5 SP4.
