I had a customer call in today. They are running

    Server 2008 x64
    Exchange 2007

    w/

CA Arcserv r12 using the Exchange Agent to run their backups.

As of late they have been getting the following errors showing up

    Log Name:      Application
    Source:        VSS
    Date:          2/20/2009 1:31:57 PM
    Event ID:      8194
    Task Category: None
    Level:         Error
    Keywords:      Classic
    User:          N/A
    Computer:      blackhawk.targusinfo.com
    Description:
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error querying for the IVssWriterCallback interface.  hr = 0x80070005. This is often caused by incorrect security settings in either the writer or requestor process.

    Operation:
       Gathering Writer Data

    Context:
       Writer Class Id: {e8132975-6f93-4464-a53e-1050253ae220}
       Writer Name: System Writer
       Writer Instance

    Log Name:      Application
    Source:        Storage Group Consistency Check
    Date:          2/20/2009 1:05:14 PM
    Event ID:      200
    Task Category: Database Header Validation
    Level:         Information
    Keywords:      Classic
    User:          N/A
    Computer:      blackhawk.targusinfo.com
    Description:
Instance 1: Database headers have been successfully validated. All databases are in a dirty shutdown state. To bring these databases to a clean shutdown state, log generations 24244 (0x00005eb4) to 24248 (0x00005eb8) will be required.
    Event Xml:

When running vssadmin list writers I see only one error: System Writer:  Non-retryable Error. All other writers have no errors. The backup appears to actually complete, but the Exchange logs are not being truncated at all. There are about 5 days worth of logs sitting for 4 of the 6 Storage Groups this customer has.

Has anyone seen this issue while running an Exchange Backup using Arcserv r12 ?

Thanks in advance for any information at all.
