QuestionFAXMaker issue

I am working the on a GFI faxmaker issue with SBS 2003.  I have the GFI server loaded on another box (Server2) and the SBS server is the exchange server.  So, having said that,  I have an SMTP connector that points to the SMTP virutal in IIS on server2, when I try to send a FAX , via the ######@faxmaker.com, the email is not delivered to SERVER2 for routing out the GFI Fax server, I get "The remote server did not respond to a connection attempt" in the que on the SBS 2003 box, and no connections are shown on SERVER2 under the IIS virtual server.

I was able to telnet to port 25 of the of SERVER2 and I see the connection under the IIS virt server.  I was able to telnet and send a FAX using command line, just not using outlook and exchange to route in the same manner.  Any help would be great.

Did you run your telnet test from the Exchange Server?

Thanks for the reply, I did not run a telnet session from SERVER2 (Faxmaker server) because when I sent a FAX inbound, the FAX was routed to the correct mailbox on the exchange server.

    Hi,

The manual will tell you that you also need to run the setup on the Exchange server itself which will create a seperate SMTP connector on the Exchange server. I assume you did this, in that case ensure that the SMTP connector which is created by the Faxmakerserver install is still there.
