Can I filter spam by sender name?
- Using Exchange 2007 on Windows 2008, Edge Server, Forefront.
Lately we are getting a lot of spam with an SCL=0. The word VIAGRA is in the sender's name, but not in the subject or the body of the text.
I added viagra to the custom words filter, but I'm guessing that only scans the body of the message. Right? Any way to get it to work on the sender's name?
For example, I get spam from:
Try Viagra4Free [bisecty1@flibus.com]
Thanks in advance....

Dont know how effective that will really be in the long run, but you could create a Hub Transport rule to drop or redirect messages based on words or text patterns in the FROM:

- I added SpamHAUS (zen.spamhaus.org) to our edge server (sender id) and that solved the problem. Thanks for the suggestions.
