AnswerIs this a supported SCR scenario?

Standalone MBX Server 1 - Storage Group 1 - Mailbox Database 1 will be SCR Source
Standalone MBX Server 1 - Storage Group 2 - Public Folder Database (PF Replication)

Standalone MBX Server 2 - Storage Group 1 - Mailbox Database 1 will be SCR Target
Standalone MBX Server 2 - Storage Group 2 - Public Folder Database (PF Replication)

The authoritative Technet Article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc164368.aspx is not clear on this very basic configuration.  SCR is not CCR and the mention of a SCR 'environment' makes no sense.  It is enabled on a Storage Group basis only.  Can anyone point me to something more definitive?  I have seen other posts asking the same thing without an authoritative response.

Amit and James thank you for the help.  I have raised this question with my customer's assigned Premeir Support engineer.  He is very steadfast that this is not supported even with separate storage groups due to all the documentation stating "SCR environment".

I was hoping I could find a MS document that addressed this that I could provide to them.  I am now having to place the PF replication on another system.  I know my original design works in a lab environment as I have tested it so its just a question of support.

Maybe some day I will hear the technical justification for not supporting SCR (or LCR for that matter) on a specific storage group SEPARATE from a another storage group hosting the Public Folder database on the same Exchange Server.

Yes, this is SCR scenario where SRV1-SG1 is being replicated to SRV2-SG1.

Yes, it can be enabled on storage group basis only with the condition of SG should have only one database.

Amit thank you for taking the time to reply.  I have read through the links you provided and I have previously watched the SCR Video Series.  I believe this is a supportable SCR configuration based upon my understanding of Exchange 2007 SP1 SCR and public folders.

Unfortunately I still need a MS link or document that corrects this paragraph:

"SCR and public folder replication are two very different forms of replication built into Exchange. Due to interoperability limitations between continuous replication and public folder replication, if more than one Mailbox server in the Exchange organization has a public folder database, public folder replication is enabled and public folder databases should not be hosted in SCR environments."

    From - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc164368.aspx

It should read ".... public folder replication is enabled and public folder databases should not be hosted in SCR-enabled Storage Groups."

Since Exchange 2007 is soon to be replaced and SCR deprecated I am afraid this statement will not be updated.

I think this is a more accurate view of the storage group configuration:

Standalone MBX Server 1 – Storage Group 1 – Mailbox Database 1 will be SCR Source

Standalone MBX Server 1 – Storage Group 2 – Public Folder Database (PF Replication – no SCR)

    Standalone MBX Server 2 – Storage Group 1 – Mailbox Database 1

Standalone MBX Server 2 – Storage Group 2 – Public Folder Database (PF Replication – no SCR)

Standalone MBX Server 2 – SCR Target Storage Group (Separate hidden SG)

As SCR is enabled and managed on a per storage group basis and these databases are separated by storage group, there should be no replication technology conflict in this design.

Since SCR can be enabled on SG bases so I guess it is mentioned PF DB shouldn't be hosted in SCR environments but SCR-enabled Storage Groups makes more sense but I couldn't find any link which says it explicitly...
