HA for system
HA for system
- Hello!
I have two servers (Intel Xeon) with running ESXi on`em. There are about 70 clients in the network (16 thin clients among them). We`ve got pretty large data storage (it`s about 100TB). We`re using Exchange 2010 CCR and SQL DB with crytical data. We`re planning to use tape device for backup.
What iSCSI targets do have high Availability in general for my project?

- StarWind is going to release the new version of StarWind Enterprise HA supporting the failover clustering very soon. You can read about it here: http://www.starwindsoftware.com/SAN-High-Availability

- Hi ToreTrygg,
Do you have 100TB being used by only 70 clients? It's very interesting...
There is a free software called Openfiler iSCSI (http://www.openfiler.com/), but it currently doesn't working with Windows Server 2008 cluster, but
works well with ESX for cluster porpose, but not for Microsoft technologies in general.
There is another product, it is the StarWind (http://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwind-enterprise-server; http://www.starwindsoftware.com/iscsi-for-vmware-esx-and-esxi), that is good. i'm using both and this last one working pretty well with Microsoft Clustering.
Cheers,
Marcelo.

- Openfiler is Linux-based fallful solution as I know?)
Yes, it’s based on linux. Yet, there’s no official record to support Openfiler in the exchange storage
- I'm really appreciate for all you responses. Wont to inform you that I've decided to use StarWind now. Thank you Paul!
