New to Exchange, only 2 days into it.
When working in outlook 07 sp2, if I am composing an email created from personal folders, OR if I open a Task that is even years old in my Personal folders, while the item is open and being edited, after a period of time is saves into the Drafts folder in Exchange.  Had personal info visible to anyone in my company using Exchange yesterday! my partner noticed it through OWa first, noticed my personal items in drafts.
Once i close or send the item, it disappears out of Exchange drafts, but is visible as long as it is open.

Have fished around for a setting for this, cannot comprehend it would not default to personal items staying personal, but it is happening before my eyes.
    What can i do?

I understand what you are trying to do.  You obviously have multiple accounts setup in Outlook with your work Exchange account. I have never seen an option to split up where the Drafts are saved when you have multiple accounts setup.

I think your best bet is to turn off the Auto-Save option. Also how is it that other people can see your Drafts folder or why are they looking at your Drafts folder, you might want to consider removing the permissions from this folder.

    Thanks

    Agreee with Will.

You need to first remove permission of others from your mailbx.

Or else you need to disable the Auto save options.

Here is a document that shows how to manage the different options for automatically saving emails, http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/hp101024241033.aspx.

As far as saving the drafts to a folder in your PST file, I don't think there is any way to set that up.

    Thanks

Thank you for taking time to reply.
Unfortunately this does not answer my issue, maybe someone else can help, or I can be more clear:

When composing an email, I want an auto-save, that is useful and makes sense.
What I do not want is for my personal emails and personal tasks with private information to be automatically saving themselves in Exchange. Just now, writing an email, during composing, it is auto-saved and viewable in Exchange, on owa and on individual computers of my work colleagues. Once I finish the email and send it, the draft is not saved permanently, but surely my personal emails are not supposed to be viewed even for a few minutes by others.

I have looked and looked for settings to change. I have looked for documents on this, I cannot find anything.

This is also happening with tasks. I keep lists, personal lists, in my Tasks in outlook. it is very useful as it syncs with my phone. gift lists, travel lists. When i open one of these, or create a new one, after the 3 minute auto-save period, it puts itself into DRAFTS on Exchange and others can view it.

    Hi,

How does the Outlook connect Exchange server? MAPI or POP3?

    Thanks
