I haven't looked at managed folders in a long time, but a requirement has recently come up in our company for users to share data and then archive it off after a certain amount of time.

Can you have a shared managed folder or would this be resource mailbox with a managed folder that everyone copies messages to?

    Hi,

Manged folders not directly be shared. i suppose your requirement is to have a mailbox shared with Manged folders or say Inbox itself. To fulfill your requirement you can you can do the following...
    1. Create a mailbox and give permissions to all who need access to it.
    2. Create a new Manged Default folder named "Inbox-Shared" and create managed content setting with deleting or forwarding it to some other mailbox for archiving after certain amount of time.
    3. Create a Manged Folder mailbox policy and add that newly created Manged Default folder to that policy.
    4. Add that policy to the mailbox and then instruct users to add this mailbox as secondary Mailbox.
    5. You can also create multiple folders with access for different group of users so that users will be able to see only that folder to which they have given access to but this multiple folders idea it good only if someone is accessing this mailbox and transferring mails manually to those folders.
Let me know if this idea works for you, I Can explain each step in detail.

    Thanks.
