Exchange 2007 Transporter Suite - Free/Busy with Domino 7.0.3
Has anyone got the free/busy connector working with Domino 7.0.3?
In Domino our replicated Exchange users are shown in the adress book in the "Exchange" domain (this is also their calendar domain).
We have created a Foreign Domain document for this domain.
EXCALCON is running on Domino and connects to the exchange server OK
"Exchange Calendar Connector connect to the Microsoft Exchange Free Busy Connector for Lotus Domino service on xxx.yyy.domain".
In Notes, when we lookup an Exchange user free/busy we get no info. Looking at Domino (we have debug on) EXCALCON is NOT invoked, there is no lookup done on the user and the free/busy request appears to be sent to the NOTESSCHEDGATEWAY.
Any help as to why Domino isn't passing to EXCALCON would be appreciated!
Please note that we have read the transporter suite documentation (which is poor), the release notes and the article on msexchange.org, so we do not need links to these documents :-)

- email me at mcrowley at go-planet dot com for a troubleshooting free busy document.
- We are running the free/busy connector with domino 7.0.3 and exchange 2007 and works fine. Can you provide more details on foreign domain document, notes ini settings for the excalcon task, and the free/busy connector properties from the exchange server. Also were you able to do the free/busy lookup from outlook for notes users?
Kushal,
Thank you for your reply and it is good to hear you have got it working with 7.0.3 - both ways I assume?
My Exchange users can see free/busy of the Notes users - I got this working fairly quicky.
Having done more troubleshooting, our issue could be that the Notes client does not realise our Exchange users are in a foreign domain. When we select an Exchange user from the Domino directory (paulr/Exchange) it is added to the Invitees list as just the user name "paulr" with no domain.
In this scenario, do your Exchange users appear with their domain or not?

Paul
- Did you create a proper foreign document?
Did you add Excalcon <exchange server fqdn> <foreign domain name> to your ServerTasks in notes.ini ?

Thank you for your replies - I had previously studed the thread you provided, but I will review it again.
I have created a foreign domain document for "Exchange" (without quotes).
My Exchange user "test1.user" has the calender domain field of Exchange.
There is conflicting information on the Calendar system name to use and the name to append to EXCALCON. I have tried using Exchange (the foreign domain), mail.box and ExchFreeBusy - and most permutations!
The test1.user is replicated from Exchange with the Mail System as "Other Internet Mail" but no domain was on the basic tab.
I have tried adding the Exchange domain and various other fields to the person document, but the problem persists.
Can either of you confirm if the Notes client should show test1.user with no suffix in the invities list?
Thanks & Regards
Paul- When you add the user to the invitee list in the meeting invitation and press F9, it should show up as test1.user@exchage.Make sure you have the following settings in place..Person document should have mail system set to other, mail domain set to Exchange, calendar domain set to ExchangeNotes.ini should contain the following line in the sever tasks. Or issue the command at the server console using load <command>EXCALCON <FQDN of the exchange server running the transporter suite> mail.boxeg. EXCALCON exchange1.corp.local mail.boxEnsure that you were able to ping the exchange server from the domino server. Or try issuing the trace <exchange server> command in the domino console. When you look at the show tasks output, you should see a line similar to the one below in the domino consoleExchange cal conn connected to exchange1.corp.local for mail.box . Stats=4 1/0 1it may show as not connected until the first free/busy request is initiated.Foreign domain document with the following fields setDomain type : Foreign domainForeign domain name: ExchangeUnder mail information tab:Gateway server name: domino server name for routing the mails (eg. domserver1/srv/acme)Gateway mail file name: mail.boxunder calendar information tab:calendar server name: domino server where the excalcon task is runningcalendar system: mail.boxMake sure you are running the schedule manager and calendar connector tasks on the domino server where the excalcon is running.Make sure the address book is replicated to all the servers.Make sure the Microsoft transporter suite free/busy connector is setup properly on the exchange server and the Microsoft free/busy connector service is running.
How's the issue?
