My Public Folder repilcation seems to have completed but I noticed that the pub1.stm file on Exchange 2003 is half of what it is on Exchange 2000.

    1.1GB vs 2.4GB

Any explanation?  Am I safe in assuming the replication completed since I did compare the item count in each folder and they do match.

Yep. If item counts are the same per folder, then you are good to go.
the difference is typically because when messages are moved from one 200x server to another, the promotion process moves some of the messages into the edb file, making the destination file smaller. And of course, there is white space in the stm file as well that isnt moved when folders are replicated.

The only way to determine white space in the stm file is to use esetuil

    Hi,

If you have checked the counts and replication going on fine, create some new content in PF and if it also replicating, then you are on...!!

At the same time File Level sizes do not really matter, already explained by Andy !

That may also explain then the size of the .edb file

    Exchange 2000 - pub1.edb 13,314,440 kb
    Exchange 2003 - pub1.edb 13,856,776 kb

    Thanks....
