Can't connect an Iphone to Exchange 2003

Hello,
We have a problem with one of our users trying to connect their Iphone 4 to our Exchange 2003 Server. We can connect it and see the folder structure, but can't actually send and recieve mail. We have another user witht the same Iphone and it works fine. We tried connecting to the problem users mailbox with a different Iphone to test and that worked fine, so its looks like the issue may be with the mailbox itself. There are lots of errors in the event log on the server:
Server ActiveSync 3005 27/04/2012 14:42 1,757 * Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error:
Server: [server.1234.local] User: [Steve@1234.co.uk] HTTP status
code: [500]. Verify that the Exchange mailbox Server is working correctly.I can log into his mailbox fine using OWA. Not really sure what to try next...does anyone else have any suggestions? Thanks

Hello,
Since the user can use ActiveSync with other iPhone, the issue should be with the previous iPhone.
