Outlook 2007 Sending reported error 0x800CCC80

Friday, September 25, 2009 10:53 AM1. Outlook Express 6.0: setting require authentication for outgoing SMTP. IMSS (Trend micro) can accept and relay to another mail sever. working OK.
2. Outlook 2007: setting require authentication for outgoing SMTP. IMSS (Trend micro) can not accept.
Error message: Sending reported error 0x800CCC80 'None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server.'
Please help.

Check in the Advance Tab of the same dialog box the verify the ports. Also set the "User following type of encrypted connection" to Auto then test again.

go to att.com/sst and download the service and support tool, pick the box email problems, the program can fix the problem. It worked for me.
