IIS SMTP and Canon Copier!

Hello,
I'm in a situation where I want to scan to email with a big Canon (forgot model) multifunction copier. I'm having an issue where emails are not being sent to external recipients. If I test using Telnet or SMTPDiag, emails go to external recipients w/o issue. It seems to be only when it's coming from the copier. What might cause this?
On the Copier:
DNS Pointing to internal DNS server which can resolve MX.
SMTP points to IIS SMTP server (which again, sends externally when using Telnet or SMTPDiag)
username/password for SMTP auth. - I also tested Telnet using 'auth login' and that was also successful.
On the IIS Server, SMTP is configured as:
Allow Basic and Windows Integrated Authentication.
Relay allowed for localhost and internal subnet of the copier
No TLS, No Smarthost, No Outbound Security.
Im not really sure where else to look or how to diagnose the issue. I verified the ISP isn't blocking port 25, but that was before I found out it works fine when using other SMTP utilities.
Thanks,

Also, if the sender's address isassociated with a working mailbox it should receive a NDR with anyexplanation of the failure.FYI, this is an Exchange server forum. You should be using (maybe)http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winservergen/threads.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP
