    Hi,
    I have an setup with exchange server 2003 and 2007 for same domain.

    I am facing few problems while accessing those servers;
    1)is it possible to access the mail box that was created in Exchange 2007 mailbox by exchnage 2003 OWA.and viceversa?
    2)I am able to log into the Exchange 2007 owa with 2k3 mailbox user credintials but unable to get the mail box.
    3)while I am trying to send the mails from exchnage 2007 mail box users mails are not sending insted that those mails are stopping iin DRAFT folder
    4)I was verified with eventviewr i found an errror Task:1009
    "The Microsoft Exchange Mail Submission service is currently unable to contact any Hub Transport servers in the local Active Directory site. The servers may be too busy to accept new connections at this time."
    5)while I am trying to configure with MS Outlook then the user search is finding the automtically the server name wat ever that server that the mailbox present.

    Pleae help to solve the above five issuies.

    Thanks in adv,
    Crew.

    1.  No, you need to specify https://server.com/exchange if you want to get to the Exchange 2003 mailbox from the 2007 mailbox.  You can not go from 2003 to 2007.  Only 2007 to 2003 is supported with the /exchange at the end.

    2.  Try using /exchange at the end with the 2003 user

    3.  No idea, it could be a bug.  have you checked the destination mailbox to see if the mail item arrived?  I recall a bug sometime ago around this.  Patch your outlook clients.

    4.  Check your Sites and SErvics, make sure your Exchange 2007 servers are in the same site as a AD GC.

    5. Huh?

    3 and 4 tell me the Hub Transport and/or Mail Submission services are stopped. If they are running, restart them.
    As for 5, that is expected. That's the way it supposed to work!

    Hi,

    For Q4,please look at the article below and then narrow down the root cause of the issue.

    Hi ,
    For Q5-
    Iagree with David,
    I am happy with that automatic resolving but my question why the same is not possible with OWA?

    OWA doesnt use mapi, but of course the end user doesnt create a profile with OWA either. They just logon, unless I am missing something in your question.

    Hi Messengers, Where are you at with the problem?

    As for mail routing, have you checked your message tracking to see if the email is hitting the Hub?  Also, make sure the transport service is running.  Another thought would be to check to see if you have any space issues.  I have seen the service shut down b/c a HD is filled up and the queue on the HT server can not grow.

    @david:
    you are right,I am able to login to E2k7 OWA with E2k3 user profiles.,but immindiatly i am reciving an error:unable to found mail box path,click here to see more details" etc.
    But If i tried to configur with Outlook its going fine ,watever in the server that mail box present  ,the  server name is automatically resolving. so no problem with outlook users ,
    I am asking why this is facilitite in Outlook but not in OWA?

    @Scott:
    I tried to dig this error anf found the problem with HUB Transport,also i observed that eventhough the HUB transport service is runnign my mails are not delivering insted that those are saving in Draft folder.

    ..

    So, do I understand correctly that emails are not sending internally but rather being stgored in the drafts folder?  I would believe either a policy on the server, or a client issue.  I have seen this before but don't recall the fix.  :(  I know, I'm no help....

    regarding owa, you can't find the mailbox server of the user?  Are you in a forest root with child domains?

    Can you update us on your status?

    Hi,

    You understand correct.
    .I did not configured any policy on Exchange 2007 or on E2k3.

    Regarding OWA, when I am logging with an user whose mailbox is present on E2k3 server  is not able to access while I am trying to logging into E2k7 owa, infact I am able provide credintials at logon page after that immidiatly i am reciving error that "user mail box not found or it has moved to another data store" click here to get more details" .
    I have only one single forest and it does not contain any child domains.

    Thanks

    Hi

    It looks like you're trying to open mailbox (via /OWA) which still resides on Exchange 2003. If this is so, you have to use https://webmailaddress.com/exchange or otherwise move the mailbox to Exchange 2007 mailbox server, after that, you should be able to access mailbox by https://webmailaddress.com/owa

    Hi,
     I have https://exchange2k3/Exchange. I dont have problem with this.
    While I am logging into https://exchange2k7/OWA with Exchnage 2k3 mailboxes i am facing the above error.That error was excepted.but while i am tring to configur in Outlook I am not facing any issuie.
    So here i want to know that :
    1)Why I am unable to login into OWA with Exchange 2003 mailboxeseventhough  both are in same domain,and why the same thing is possible via Outlook.
    just to know the techincal reasons behind that.

    Thanks
    Crew.

     Proposed Answer
    If I get your question correctly... This is all about client access; in order to deliver/show the mailbox via the OWA, CAS has to contact the mailbox which is located on Exchange 2007 mailbox server, while mailbox still resides on Exchange 2003 server you will not be able to view the mailbox via CAS OWA virtual directory (because CAS cannot locate the mailbox on Exchange 2007 mailbox, it won't look on Exchange 2003 in this case)  but only via Exchange virtual directory. When you use Outlook, neither OWA nor Exchange virtual directories are used/play role but Autodiscovery (and then MAPI protocol as oppose to HTTPS when using OWA to connect to mailbox).
