SMTP Failure

We have a very simple, single server Exchange 2007 installation. It is up to date with all sp and updates. We are running AVG for Exchange and it is the current version and up to date.

Every couple days we have what seems to be a lock up of the transport service. Internal mail works just fine from outlook clients, but the SMTP service is unavailable and does not answer a telnet so mail from outside and non-outlook clients (applications that send SMTP) are unable to be received.

There are no failure messages, the services screen shows the transport service running, there are no error messages in the event logs. I cannot correlate the timing with any events like virus scans, or the like. For the A/V part of the software I've excluded the exchange folders.

A restart of the Transport Service alleviates the symptoms until it reoccurs.

Any troubleshooting assistance or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Can't send to domain that was part of our domain, but now is hosted elsewhere.

We have a domain xyz.com and it recieved emails for xyz.com and we also had another company that we setup another email domain for, abc.com. we setup in reciepient policies that domain name. Now abc.com has moved out and they now have their own mail server and domain in another office. We cannot send to this domain now. Whenever we try to send emails to them it still goes to their email here, also sending to a new user there just returns an undelieverable saying no such user in that domain. i deleted the recipient policy, but still this is happening....any ideas what i could be missing??

sir, we have been using mdaemeon mailsystem, now we have changed to exchange 2007 + service pack 2 .i configure properly.i have some problem....i can send and receive mails inside combany..and i can send ouside also (i send to gmail..ok) but i cannot receive outside mails ( i try to reply from gmail but not receiving) .i think problem with receive connector ..pls help me that how to create receive connector ?

Exchange 2007 MSExchangeTransport will not start ,Pls Help!

This is a fresh installation of Exchange 2007 sp1 on windows 2003 x64. One mailbox server, the other is Hub-Transport & Client Access Server . The installations of the two servers were completed successfully. But i found the MSExchangeTransport Service on the  Hub-Transport & Client Access Server cannot start.

Outlook integration error with Microsoft Office Communicator 2007

Hello,
I have searched lot of articles regarding this, but not getting solution of my problem. No thread is providing a solution which could help me. Kindly help. I am getting this error in my communicator

"Communicator could not determine the location of your Exchange Web Services
Your outlook calendar information and Out of Office message may not be available and your calls may not be forwarded based on your working hours. "

We have 2 mailbox servers, 2 hub/cas/ums servers, and 2 edge servers. The error came from the time when we add another smtp address in email address policy. i.e. previously we had child.abc.com running, now we have another one i.e. abc.com as well. so i have added abc.com in email address policy and set it as reply. OCS sip is already configured with abc.com domain so no problem there. Dont know whether it is related to autodiscover service or what, kindly help.

I have an interesting one that much searching has not resulted in an answer.

We host via HMC several domains with Exchange 2007. We recently started offering split-domains where some users are on our hosted exchange platform and others are either external or on a linux POP/IMAP solution. Our provisioning software sets up the domain as an "External Relay" domain. This has been fine for us for a while - until I came across an issue I could not fix.

A customer of ours, we'll call the domain "myemail.com" for test purposes, is utilizing our split-domain where their domain has about 5 Exchange accounts, and the remainder of their employees are on an external linux pop mail server. We set up the domain as an External Relay domain, added the accounts, mail flows beautifully between the orgs - that is for anyone using RPC, OWA, or ActiveSync based clients.   One of these 5 users has a mac and is using MacMail with IMAPs and SMTP. This user (we'll call user@myemail.com) - whenever trying to send via smtp to any recipient (both internal and external) fails. His client settings are appropriately configured, he's logging in as his fully qualified email address (which matches his UserPrincipalName), he's set for the proper authentication, he's set to authenticate before send - but cannot send to anywhere. He can send fine on other machines when using rpc, owa, or mapi based connections.

So as you can see - the user is successfully authenticating, and then being told he does not have permissions to send as himself.   I've verified he does in fact have send-as rights through, verified NT Authority\Self has send-as rights, and verified that authenticated users has 'ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-any-Recipient'.

On a whim of a guess after trying everything I could think of - I set the domain to "Authoritative" - which will cause those 5 users of Exchange to be able to still email external - but will bounce any message to their other 40 employees of the same myemail.com that are hosted on an external linux/pop system. Temporarily I made the change - and low and behold I could now send SMTP as user@myemail.com all day long.   I set this back to "External Relay" domain, and it immediately failed working again, set it back to "Authorized Domain" and it worked once again.

So now I need to figure out what permissions "Authoritative Domain" grants, to allow him to send this message.

In looking at my 3 options of a domain type, you have "Authoritative Domain" "Internal Relay Domain" and "External Relay Domain". -   We've established that "Authoritative" allows the user to send mail, and that "External Relay Domain" does not.   I changed it to an "Internal Relay Domain" and that works!! - While I'm quite happy this seems to solve the problem (the user can email any way he wants to now) - I'm not convinced that's the right solution.

So my few questions.

1) Why does a valid user on a domain that's marked as a "External Relay Domain" not able to send smtp mail?
2) Are there any permissions I can grant to circumvent 1).
3) Is there any detriment to setting the domain as an "Internal Relay Domain" - there is obviously something different betwen internal and external - though functionally they appear very similar.
4) Should our provisioning software set up all mail domains that are split between disparate systems as "Internal" or "External" relay domains.

Undeliverable Messages have no attachments containg the Original Message

Hi, We are running Exchange 2007 SP1. Upgraded a little while ago. Since then all Undeliverable messages do not have the original message added as an attachment. Can we turn these back on? I believe it is the Transport connector that needs to be configured but not 100% sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edgesync stops after 24 hours

I can get the initial edgesyn process to work no problem and everything seems to replicate okay and mail is flowing between the Hub and Edge servers. After 24 Hours all syncronization stops with credential errors.

Get this error every hour for the first 24 hours

EdgeSync failed to confirm the credential for replication account cn=ESRA.EDGE1.GRMAILHUB.0,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,CN={FC1C811D-B596-4693-B8A8-B98C06108271} for subscription server EDGE1..... Please make sure Microsoft Exchange Credential Service (EdgeCredentialSvc) is running properly on the subscription server.

And then this one after 24 hours

Failed to connect to the Edge Transport server ADAM instance with exception "The supplied credential is invalid.". This could be caused by a failure to resolve the Edge server name EDGE1.... in DNS, a failure trying to connect to port 50636 on EDGE1...., network connectivity issues, an invalid certificate, or an expired subscription. Please verify your network and server configuration.

All services are running okay, DNS is resolving okay and the clocks appear to be in sync.

I have tried re-subscibing numerous times and have deleted the certificates and created new ones but still the sync only works until the edgesync file becomes stale

During the first 24 hours the "test-edgesyncronization" command gives the following info:

IMAP4 - error in APPEND command with large messages (26 Mb)

Hi all,
when trying to upload a message into an Exchange Server 2007 IMAP folder using the APPEND command, the server returns the error "104 BAD Command Argument Error. 11"
The message is a large message (~26 Mb) in RFC822 format.
We are using a proprietary email client and the same command works on other IMAP4 servers, so it seems a limitation on the APPEND command in Exchange Server 2007. The message size limits on Exchange Server are configured to 100 Mb.

Looking at the event viewer on the server I got the following exception:

mail contact SMTP address set as reply

Hello,

I have @domain1.com and @domain2.com as accepted domains.

I have created a new mail contact with primary smtp: user@domain1.com and other smtp addresses: firstname.lastname@domain1.com and user@domain2.com

For info: The @domain.com is one company and @domain2.com is another company

I have set as reply the user@domain2.com and When I write to user@domain1.com emails are forwarded to user@domain2.com OR when I write to firstname.lastname@domain1.com emails are forwarded to user@domain2.com.

Can someone explain me why?? Can I considere the set as reply as a forward when it regards mail contacts??

Thanks in advance for highlighted me? Also if you could explain me the different between primary SMTP address and external SMTP address as well as Set as reply.
I am pretty confused about all that.

462 Conversion required and prohibited

Almost done with our migration from Exchange 2000 to 2007. Still have one issue i'd like to resolve before decommisioning the 2000 box...for some reason, emails sent to one specific domain are being stuck in queue due to an error "462 Conversion required and prohibited. Closing connection". The facts I have so far:

- This happens when I try to send them out from the new 2007 box's internet send connector. When I use the routing connector to send them out through the old 2000 box, they go just fine.
- This happens only to relays from our app servers sending smtp emails. I can send to this domain using outlook just fine.
- We are running Exchange 2007 sp2

What would be different in sending those relays from a 2000 box and a 2007 box?

sending notifications by transport rule

Hi I have 2 domains, a production and a research domain. They are 2 separate forests with an external transitive trust between them.

I have set up the research Exchange 2007 server to send to the Production Exchange 2003 server but what I am looking for is a transport rule which states:

IF message is sent to account firstname.lastname@research.dom then send a template message to firstname.lastname@production.dom which states "you have a new mail on the Research domain, please log in".

Newly joined exchange server not working

HI friends,

I have recently joined a additional exchnage 2003 server to my current windows 2003 domain and exchange organization ,I created a user and placed the user in the newly installed exchnage server ,i am able to send mails from the new user which is created but when i send mail from othher address to this user it bounces back giving an NDR 550 although it was related to my anti spam i resolved this issue and now when i try senidng mail again ,i am not able to see any mails which i am sending but this time after resolving the anti spam issue i am not getting NDR but i am not able to see the mails
,i am sure this mails are reaching the exchange mailbox of the user

When i open system manager and go to the users mailbox i can it shows there are 6 items i mean i have sent 6 mails to this user which i can see but when i login to OWA and check i am not able to see any mails but i am able to send mails and receving it sucessfully

Been looking at this tool and have noticed at times, several queues to unknown (spam-type) domains - my question is, are these queues all trying to send out from my Exchange 2007 server and if so, how is this happening as we have spam/content filtering as well as Sophos Puremessage catching all the cr-ap we get coming in.

I also noticed something yesterday whilst we were experiencing an external DNS issue which had caused all emails heading to btinternet.com to queue up in here - are all these queues heading out and if so, is there a way I can similarly monitor queues coming in as we had a bit of a stack-up yesterday?

Hello everybody.

I've a problem with the autentication from outlook express to the SMTP of a Exchange 2003 server.
I already checked all this forum, and this topic:

but I haven't found a solution.

My problem is very strange.

If I try to send an email form outlook express form a client in the same lan of the mail server, I can send the email only using the LOCAL ip address of the mail server. If i put as SMTP server the pubblic address of the exchange server, I can send only to mailboxes of the same mail server.

Sending a email to an external mail box, I only obatain this error:

Impossibile inviare il messaggio. Uno dei destinatari non è stato accettato dal server. L'indirizzo di posta elettronica non accettato è "user@gmail.com". Oggetto 'ccccc', Account: 'xxx', Server: 'my pubblic ip address', Protocollo: SMTP, Risposta del server: '550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for user@gmail.com', Porta: 25, Protezione (SSL): No, Errore del server: 550, Numero di errore: 0x800CCC79

Obviously the same error happens in other networks, where I must put the pubblic address.

I can say that:
From the LAN I can send email from outlook 2003 and 2007, but not trought SMTP.
From the OWA I can send email from everywhere.
In outlook express I specified that my SMTP server requires the authentication.
In the SMTP connector of the Exchange server I allow the connection from everyone that is authenticated.
In my firewall rules I allow SMTP traffic from OUTSIDE to the ip of the Exchange server.
The port of SMTP traffic is everywhere the 25.

so..
I hope that someone can help me to solve this trouble.

I have an Exchange 2007 server running on Windows 2008. We are having a problem sending to one domain. I have seen a bit of what to look for on the web, but nothing about what to do once you look it up.

I have done a NSLOOKUP and verified that DNS knows who the domain is and can find their MX record. From a command line, I can telnet their mail server and send a message succefully (per http://support.microsoft.com/?id=153119). Sending it through Outlook never goes through. Here is what I get back.

Forwarding "INTERNAL DOMAIN" emails to Blackberry

Hello,

I have an issue that I require your assistance with.

I have a customer who uses POP3 Connector to get emails from their Web Service Provider and they have Blackberry devices setup to receive email from that Provider.

When a user sends emails from the internal exchange server they obviously dont get forwarded to the blackberry, so I created a server rule that redirects internal email to that person's blackberry device (via mail contact). However since I have done this when users send email via their Blackberry (i.e. Outside the Exchange Server) to other users inside the company the recipient gets doubles (since the email goes to the Service Provider first where the recipients blackberry gets it, and then again when its delivered to exchange).

Is there a Server side rule that I can create so that ONLY internal emails get forwarded to the blackberry devices (mailbox specific) or is there a better way to handle this?

Other Details:
They use Exchange 2007 (via SBS2008), Outlook 2003/2007 and OWA in addition to their blackberries to send and receive email.
Cannot host email directly on Exchange as their ISP currently will not allow them to have a PTR record created without upgrading their connection (which they dont want to do)
Do not have a BES

SBS 2003 SMTP Smarthost configuration

I've been having trouble configurating my SBS 2003 email delivery service. When using DNS I have a number of email blocked so I've tried to configure my outbound email to be send via mail.btinternet.com which is where my email to collected from using pop3. mail.btinternet.com needs authentication which I configure in the advance tab.

When I try to send mail I get:

"A configuration error in the e-mail system caused the message to bounce between two servers or to be forwarded between two recipients. Contact your administrator."

Ifter allot of painfull playing I've managed to resolve this by changing the smart host entry to the actual IP address [217.146.188.192] of mail.btinternet.com.

Can anyone suggest why I have needed to do this??? Or is it likely that I have something else missconfigured???

I am using exchange 2007, everything is working good but with certain companies the emil will get delayed and I can see in the queue the error above. It hapens only with them and they happen to be a hosting company-- so more domains ara afected.

We have an exchange 2003 server, fully operational. I have trying to set up a cisco ironport for one of the domains on the exchange server. Incoming mail was just a matter of changing the MX record for the domain. I am now trying to reconfigure exchange so that mail from a specified domain is routed to a different smart host, and all the existing domains still route through the default smart host.

can anyone tell me if this is possible with exchange 2003 ? is so, any input or links would be appreciated.

I've been banging my head over this one all day today. I've got an Exchange 2007 Server Enterprise Edition setup as follows:
HUB1/Mailbox
HUB2/CAS
EdgeTransport1
EdgeTransport2

I have 6 domains on the accepted domains list Under the Exchange Organization Hub Transport settings like this:
domain-a.com Authoritative
domain-b.com Authoritative
domain-c.com Authoritative
domain-d.com Authoritative
domain-e.com Authoritative
domain-f.com Authoritative

I also have Email Address Policies setup for each of these domains all of which are applied except domain-d.com and domain-e.com (because these domains are depricated).

Here's the problem. I'm running some tests via POP/SMTP on the HUB2/CAS server. I have everything working just fine except for the fact that I cannot send from one of the accepted domains. I am able to change my e-mail address to appear as if I am coming from johnh@domain-a.com - johnh@domain-e.com (yes, even domain-d.com and domain-e.com which do not have applied email address policies), but I am unable to email from johnh@domain-f.com. My predecessor setup domain-a.com - domain-e.com. I setup domain-f.com. I'm wondering if I have done something incorrect that would not allow ANY user to send from that domain. I've tried granting my individual user ADPermissions on the receive connector with ExtendedRights ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-Authoritative-Domain-Sender and have tried to grand these permissions to all Authenticated Users. This has not worked either time. Each time I make a change, I restart the Exchange Information Store (as recommended in other online blogs for speedy AD propagation of configs) and this does not work. This is only if I do it through POP/SMTP connections. If I set the "Set as Reply" address to johnh@domain-f.com and use Outlook to connect through Exchange itself, the test messages go through and appear to come from johnh@domain-f.com. Again, through POP/SMTP I always get 550 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender.

I'm going to go bald pulling my hair out over this one. Does anyone know what would cause me to not be able to send from this single domain. Is there a limitation to the number of accepted domains that Exchange 2007 Enterprise can handle? Is there some extra step that I'm missing here when adding an accepted domain?

Exchange having problems receiving emails with attatchments

I have a windows 2003 server SP2 with Exchange 2003. Recently we have noticed customers having problems sending us emails with attachments.

Just to provide some info on what I have done on our network recently

- I removed an old exchange server

- I enabled spam filtering on our checkpoint firewall

- We used to have a 3rd party smtp relay but now email goes directly to our exchange server

All happened Wednesday last week and our users dint start seeing the problem until Friday that week.

I spent 7 hours with checkpoint yesterday troubleshooting and all logs and debugs that we looked at show that the emails are getting thru the firewall fine.

Any help solving this problem would be GREATLY! appreciated.

Greetings - I am the sophmoric admin - meaning I know just enough to be really dangerous. I have SBS2008 w/Exchange 2007. I've set up Exchange and am successfully sending and receiving emails following the steps outlined within Exchange's setup wizards.

Prior to Exchange I used the email services provided by my web site hosting service. Using that service I was able to receive and send email via Outlook by simply adding each email account and setting POP3 & SMTP settings. I sent/received mail for accounting@domainname.com; service@domainname.com; info@; webfax@; and so on.

I am made to understand that Exchange will allow only one Exchange mailbox per Outlook configuration & that to send/receive emails for the other accounts I need to set those accounts up using POP3. Now - for the really basic question...how do I know my server's POP3 address? I've tried pop.domainname.com & mail.domainname.com to no avail.

Also - my ISP is Bellsouth - will I set up those extra email address with the ISP's SMTP setting "mail.bellsouth.net," or my Exchange's SMTP setting? If Exchange's setting...How do I learn what the setting is?

To this point - I've made no port changes on my part - still default settings; I have successfully (I think) installed a 3rd party certificate; OWA works for all accounts; my primary account send/receives via Exchange account in Outlook 2007.

I've created a send connector for the internet, but my mail still does not send.

I also cannot figure out to configure my receive SMTP connector to receive mail. All the mail comes back because its not authenticated. It seems like I need a way to change the authentication settings for the receive connector, but I cannot find anything in the UI.

I am having issues with Copying External NDRs to a Mailbox. I have followed the instructions as per http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb400930.aspx but external NDR's are continually going to the internal NDR Recipient set with the command Set-OrganizationConfig -MicrosoftExchangeRecipientReplyRecipient <Recipient Identity>. The environment is as follows:
2 sites, with each site have an Exchange 2007 mailbox and Exhange 2007 CAS\HUB.
Currently have the MicrosoftExchangeRecipientReplyRecipient set as postmaster@domain1.com.
I would like for any external NDR for a particuluar CAS server(say in site 2) to go to postmaster@DOMAIN2.com and CAS server in site 1 to go to postmaster@domain1.com . Essentially the ability to have enternal NDR from specific CAS servers to a specific postmaster account and allow the administrator in the local site to manage the extenal NDR's.

Any suggestions?

Bind *.Domain Wildcard Certificate to IMAP4 Protocol

we bought a public Wildcard Certificate *.Domain.tld.

We installed the Cert and i can see it with the command:

Get-ExchangeCertificate

I used Enable-Certificate -Thumbprint <String> -Service SMTP to bind SMTP to the Cert, works perfectly.

then i tried the same with:

Enable-Certificate -Thumbprint <String> -Service IMAP

which passes me the following:

WARNING: This certificate will not be used for external TLS connections with an FQDN of '*.domain.tld'
because the self-signed certificate with thumbprint '28423942893423492' takes precedence. The
following connectors match that FQDN: IMAP4.

The Thumbprint the error message delivers, is the thumbprint of the NEW wildcard certificate.

POP3 CONNECTOR NOT DELIVERING TO MAILBOXES

I have just set up an SBS 2008 Server / Exchange Server 2007 but I am struggling with the POP3 connector. I know most people say "Don't use it" but our Internet Connection is not good as we are in a rural area and like the fact that mail is stored on our host.
All internal e-mail is working OK and outgoing e-mail works fine. When the pop3 connector runs and there is no mail to collect, no errors are generated. If there are messages, the following is sent to the log:

In desperation I have downloaded a 3rd party connector trial version (which uses port 587) and this works just fine. However, I would like to get the "on-board" connector to work.

Allowing relay for SAP Application

I have hub/transport server configured on 2 server with NLB. I have to allow SAP application to send emails to users who register on their website. Internal to internal is working fine, if the user is local and he gives his local email address it works fine, but when user from outside give hotmail/yahoo address it doesn't work and the user doesn't get email from us. When i make an entry in accepted domains and allow * for external relay it works fine but it is exposing my server to open relay. How can i allow emails to be send to external email server without making my server open relay.

I have an Exchange Server 2003. I have had no issues for years. Recently we moved to a new office and our ISP setup the work order as a NEW order instead of a MOVE order. This issue began the day we moved.
I have 10 domains that are unable to send to our main domain. They receive a delay error #550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired

They are all able to send to our mail server directly, but they cannot reply to our emails or send to our published primary domain.
All 10 domains have Exchange 2007 AND they all have bad reverse DNS records when I run their reverse DNS through myiptest.com.
Our ISP has added 2 PTR records, one for each of the domain and it made no difference.

The headers all indicate that the mail gets to our server but is then delayed. Also, one of their IT guys, at a domain in question, sent a manual email from his Exchange 2007 server to my primary domain and it came through so he is convinced it is on my end.

I am unable to tell them that the issue is on their end or suggest anything to change because I cannot be certain that this is the case.
I read today about some permission on Exchange 2007 regarding connectors. I do not deal with these in Exchange 2003.

My ISP is done with the issue. They are now saying it is an Exchange issue. But, I can not determine if it is Exchange 2007 or my Exchange 2003 server.
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!

as this is normaly an issue with teh cert not bing valid or just not existing I have gon through all the steps of generat a new cert with the correct name and assign to the smtp serveice http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232032.aspx
but the the error just moves on the the cert that was assigned
Edgesync works "test-edgesync"
messages stick in queue both from edge to hub and hub to edge

regenerated a cert
the cert does exist in the store and has a private key
the cert has the host name and the FQDN
the Cert is assigned to the SMTP service
re created edge sync subscription.
Even tried removing the cert from AD and reenabling a new one to push that (msExchServerInternalTLSCertattrib on the server props)

Re-installed hub role

owa cert is working fine... (3rd party cer, doesnt include internal name and not assigned to SMTP)

in order to get mailflow I setup static connectors not using edgesync or TLS, but I need to it working using edgesync again

Custom Trnasport Agent generates error

Hello!

I have to write custom transport agent in C# for Exchange 2007 that counts all recipents in all distribution groups, that is sender sending mail (also recursive - counts recipients in a group that is in a group). Exchange 2007 by default takes on group as on recipient, but i have to make transport agent that counts all recipients in a group (Exchange 2003 did that).

I know that microsoft has his best practices, but my company that i am writing this agent doesn't care about it and they want this agent.

The problem is that i am not very good in programming but i manage to get this agent working as expeced, but agent causes this error after seven days of working just fine:

Hi all,

Recently i setup an Exchange 2007 server.

Everything is working fine. Only sometimes when one of the users send an email outside of the organisation, the message will be in the queue for a long time.

The error message i get is: "451 4.4.0 primary target IP address responded with: "421 4.4.2 connection dropped".

After a while (sometimes 1 hour, sometimes more then 1 day) the message will be sent.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Most of the time it is happening when sending mail to a certain domain.

Some tips or hints will be very appreciated!

Exchange 2003 - 2007 RGC problems

Hello all,

I have not been able to get mail to flow between my new Exchange 2007 SP2 server and the old 2003 SP2 server. When I attempt to create the RGC's, I get this error:

New-RoutingGroupConnector : Home routing group is not defined for server "MAIL"

I cannot find a reason or reference to this error and I have no errors to speak of in the event veiwer.

We picked up a client (xyz.com) that has a requirement for us to keep records of all the email to and from our Org (abc.com) to theirs. So I'm needing some help with creating a rule that will BCC every message from or to from xyz.com to a mailbox. Exch 2k7 SP1

1. Can this be done with one rule?

2. What conditions would be needed? I was thinking "from users inside or outside" along with "when the message header contains text patterns". The reason I asked question 1. was because the condition "from users inside or outside" only allows an OR statement and not AND.

3. What are the appropriate values that can be entered in the message header condition? Is this just like To, From, Message-ID etc?

I don't have a test environment to implement this so forgive me for being overly cautious.

Routing Emails to different smarthosts

Please consider the following example:

I have 1 Exchange 2003 server with three users in my domain foobar.com (user1@foobar.com, user2@foobar.com, user3@foobar.com). I also have two smarthosts from my ISP that I can use to have my Exchange server deliver email (smarthost1.isp.com and smarthost2.isp.com).

Is it possible to have user1@foobar.com and user2@foobar.com outbound emails flow through smarthost1.isp.com. And User3@foobar.com outbound emails flow through smarthost2.isp.com?

Ex2007 - 2 Edge Servers Config Question

Hello. We have an Exchange 2007 organization, with 2 Hubs setup to communicate with 2 Edge servers in one organization. The reason we have 2 of each is for redundancy. We initially only had 1 Edge server, so my send connectors were configured with it's FQDN. Now that I have added the 2nd Edge server, I am getting Event ID 12014 errors on the 2nd server of course because it's self signed certificate doesn't match the FQDN listed on the Send connectors (it's setup for the 1st).

My question is what is the best way to configure this properly, so I stop getting 12014 errors on the 2nd Edge server? I could create 2 more send connectors, but that seems like overkill. I was thinking about exporting the self signed cert from the 1st edge to the 2nd, but that doesn't seem like the best answer to me.

Any ideas?
