Different service models Cloud vendor are providing.

    Question

  • Hi All,

As per my understanding Cloud vendor offer clouding services in below three model.
    1. Software as service (vendor will give everything including the application)
    2. Platform as service (vendor will give operating system where we can host our applications)
    3. Infrastructure as service (vender will provide infrastructure where we can deploy our own operating systems + applications , it is just like vendor will provide a visual machine where we can setup our operation systems and application) .

I am wondering is there any other way cloud computing vendor providing their services.

    Regards

  • Take a look at this definition: http://www.nist.gov/itl/csd/cloud-102511.cfm

This is created by NIST, and all the serious cloud vendors out there (Microsoft, Amazon etc) are following this model.

This document should summarize the deployment models, service models and the essential characteristics of cloud computing, helping you to determine what to use, when.
