Power Pivot Not Launching the PivotTable

    Question

  • I have imported my data from a SQL Server Express database.  When I request any of the Pivot charts or tables, I am placed into Excel but no pivot table or chart application is available.  I am left on a blank cell in Sheet1.  I am using 32 bit Excel 2010.  I downloaded the Power Pivot last week and was able to successfully use it until today.  Now none of my Power Pivots are working and I am not able to create a new one that works.

  • If you try to launch a PivotTable from the Excel application, using the PowerPivot data source you've already created, does that work?  In other words, from the Excel app (i.e. not PowerPivot), Insert | PivotTable | Use an External Data Source" and choose the "PowerPivot Data" connect.

  • Hi mwalther30,

Do you mean that the PowerPivot tap is missing after open a PowerPivot worksheet? If so, please try to refer to the following stpes to enable the PowerPivot add-in:

    • Check whether the add-in is disabled: we can find that from file->options-->addins-->Manage Disabled Items and click Go. If you find PowerPivot for Excel is disabled enable it
    • Check whether the add-in is unloaded: we can find that from file-->options>addins->Manage COM addins and click Go. If PowerPivot for Excel is unchecked, check it again.

For more information, please see the article below:
