I have been back and forth across the forums and other places looking for a solution to the "Generic Trust Failure" (800B010B) error when running in the following KBs for .NET 4.0 on Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64):
That 800B010B error for Windows Updates could be related to a corrupted Downloads cache on the local computer. 1. Turn off Windows Updates and disable the 'Windows Update' service. 2. Delete everything under the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download
and C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore folders 3. Restart the computer. 4. Log back in and enable Windows Updates and it should successfully download and install the failed updates. If all else fails, try to install the update manually. Hope this helps.
