Windows Server 2012 Insufficient Space

    Question

  • I am setting up a new Windows 2012 Server.  I have a 3-disk RAID-5 array with 4TB of space.  The C: drive is 500GB and the D: drive is 3.5TB  I am using xcopy to copy a 50GB folder from an ethernet hard disk  I get a message saying insufficient space, which is unbelievable.  I did not activate Disk Quota.  What am I doing wrong?  Thanks.

  • Can you copy less data like - 2 GB? Are you facing this problem only while copying data to Server 2012 or all machines?

    I will try another machine.

  • can you paste the xcopy command you are using?

Also share the output of below diskpart commands:

    diskpart list volume

    Diskpart >select volume <volume number e.g 0,1, 2 etc>

After selecting above volume, run below command

    Diskpart >Detail volume
