I have two users in sharepoint 2007 with view access (meaning they cant check out or check in documents in sharepoint, but they can view files and download to their respective machines.) Both users were upgraded from office 2007 to Office 2010 home
and business. One has Win XP Pro and the other has Windows 7 Pro. When they attempt to view or download office documents in sharepoint, they are prompted to check-out the item, after whichthey are prompted for a user name and password (to authorise
the check out).
The users can view pdf documents without any issues.
