My Dear Sharepointers,
I'm working on a social solution on SPO 2013. I use the new template community sites.
On the root site, I have a custom list that store all the community sites information (Url, logo...)
this custom list enable the display of a Webpart that shows community sites and let people to "Join" them like on Yammer.
To implement this, I would like to know if the search service can query "membership information" for the current user for all the community sites.
I hope You could answer this :D
Search for the user's name and the content type "Community Member". Something like this:
WINGTIP\Hillier AND ContentType="Community Member"
Author, Microsoft SharePoint 2013 App Development
Author, Professional Business Connectivity Services
Author, Inside SharePoint 2013
SharePoint Trainer, Critical Path Training
I'm working on something similar and i'm having trouble pulling info from membership lists. It appears that the membership lists don't really store information, just reference it. When I use a content query I can pull information from the list but when I try to use a Content Search it comes back with "display.aspx" results for the content type "community member". When I look at the list and content types, all I see is a title column. It doesn't make any sense to me at the moment.
If I can pick something out of this, I'll be back to let you know what I come up with.
