CA Vet has been disabled and still weekly emails stating: "CA Vet has been deprecated as of 7/1/2009 and will be available only until 12/1/2009. Updates for this engine will stop after 12/1/2009. For more information, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=152864."

This is not in 'email nofications' and with it disabled is there any way to stop this annoying message every week?

    Please help

    Hi,

I've read the releasenotes twice and it seems that this is wanted.

    On http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd775215.aspx you will find:

"When FSSP adds or deprecates an engine, you are informed via notification entries in the event log. You can also configure notifications to be sent to Virus Administrators in addition to the event log by using the Forefront Server Security Administrator; for more information about how to do this, see “E-mail notifications” in the Forefront Security for SharePoint User Guide. "

So if you are member of the virus administrators you will receive an email in addition.

    Greetings

    Hi Christian,

Re:>> do you have disabled the engine from the selected scan engnines and also the update schedule for this engine?

Yes - File Scanners - CA Vet -> not selected
Yes - Scanner Updates - CA Vet -> Disabled

The above settings were set and it did not stop the emails.

with the latest SP there should be an information in the eventlog on which job the engine is still enabled. Can you find any information about that in the eventlog?

    Greetings
