    Hi,

When user connecting to AP Network Connector, received the “Failed updating components” error, then having “Whale Network connector session failed” error.

Server : IAG Server with SP2 Update 2
    Client : Win XP Sp3
    Whale Client : 3.7.2

    Troubleshooting step : -

    1) Uninstall and re-install Whale Component.
    2) Remove whale component active-x from IE

    No luck. Any idea?

    Thanks.

    Regards,
    H.Fei

If this is happening on just a few clients, and not every machine, then please try this blog entry for client troubleshooting steps:
    http://blogs.technet.com/ben/archive/2009/03/21/troubleshooting-iag-client-installation-issues.aspx

If this happens on all clients, then the Network Connector component on the server might be damaged and you might need to contact Microsoft Support.

    Hi Ben,

    Thanks for your prompt replied.

Yes. It happen to few clients PC. I have tried on the troubleshooting step based on the blog. But it seem it does not work well.

Since I get whlvaw.dll registered failed error too. I tried following:

    1) Manually regsvr32 whlvaw.dll but failed with following error:

    whlvaw.dll failed
    return code 0x8000064e

    Thanks.

Well, there's a limit to what we can do when troublshooting machines. This could be the result of a clash with another component on the system, or some local corruption. In general, if the steps outlined in my blog entry do not solve the problem on a specific client, our advice is to reimage the machine. That might be a problem in some scenarios, but that's all I can do at this point.

    Hi Ben,

Finally found the workaround. By manually install Whale Network Adapter, it solve my problem. Thanks.
