Remove DirectAccess from laptop - Server 2012
-
Tuesday, February 05, 2013 9:11 PMI've been testing DirectAccess with little success on my Win 8 laptop, so I want to remove it. I've already removed it from the domain group that was created for DirectAccess, but the connection is still there. How can I get DirectAccess off of my laptop?

After removing it from the group, reboot it and make sure it has domain connectivity when it starts up in order to update GPO settings. Iow you need to have connectivity with a DC to do this.

Otherwise if your client computer has the DA settings on it and it cannot contact NLS, then it won't have any connectivity while it is inside your network because it will still think it is outside the network and will attempt to throw all of your name resolution requests over the non-existent DA tunnels. Until you make it talk successfully to the NLS website, you wouldn't be able to update your Group Policy settings.
