Unanswered Direct Access 2012 and dotted NetBIOS Domain Name

    We are trying to setup Direct Access on Server 2012, but the wizard fails when we select the group of computers to assign the Client Group Policy to. It cannot locate the group, apparantly because our NetBIOS Domain Name contains a dot (XXX.DK).  After running the problem through MS PSS they conclude that Direct Access cannot be used in this environment. Having a dotted NetBIOS Domain Name is valid in Active Directory so it is strange that products using Active Directory does not comply to the rules of Active Directory...

    Have anyone else seen this issue ? Or maybe successfully installed Direct Access on Server 2012 in a domain having a dotted NetBIOS Domain Name ?

    Sorry, this won't help you but thought it's worth sharing that you're not alone. I hit some issues installing AD RMS (Windows Server 2008 R2) in a customer's environment, only to find out at the end that their dotted NetBIOS domain name is causing the issue. PSS confirmed this as well.
