We have a clinical system called SWIFT that uses MS Forefront UAG components. The users access a VPN portal and SWIFT is one of the components on the portal.
SWIFT uses Jinitiator 18.104.22.168.
We have been having a long standing issue with SWIFT timing out whenever the users leave it idle for more than 30-40 seconds.
So after a person logs into the VPN portal, clicks on SWIFT which uses Java to load the login window and after the credentials are entered, user is logged into the SWIFT system.
The time out happens after the user logs into the SWIFT system and starts showing 1/30, 2/30.........30/30 at which point it shows the following error message
FRM:92102: A Network error has occured. The Forms client has attempted to reestablish its connection to the Server 30 time(s) without success. Please check the network connection and try again later.
The other components on the VPN still continue to work but SWIFT has by this time crashed.
We have removed Sophos (our anti-virus software) out of the equation and have put MS Forefront Endpoint Protection.
The people who support this application report they are not having any issues. They got a test laptop with a VM that has the vanilla XP build with the Jinitiator 22.214.171.124 and Microsoft Forefront UAG components on which the time out never happens, however when we test this on our laptops / PCs it starts to timeout after about 30- 40 seconds.
I will be comparing the programs installed on their computers and our but our test laptop also had a vanilla XP build with SP3 and IE5 along with all the box standard software.
Has anyone come across this and if so did you manage to get a fix for the issue?
if no one has come across this issue or if i havent explained this correctly can you atleast suggest what might be causing this time out issue?
