IAG Support For Windows 7
- We are currently running IAG. We are running a limited number of Windows 7 RC devices and would like to know if Windows 7 will be supported in the current release of IAG? It's our assumption that Windows 7 will RTM months before UAG w/ support for Windows 7 RTMs.

Eric,
- Internet Explorer 8 will be supported by IAG 2007 SP2 Update 2
- IAG client components will work on Windows 7 as of one of the next Updates to IAG 2007 SP2 (plans are not yet finalized, so not sure which update number will that be)
- Network Connector will most probably not be functional on Windows 7 when using IAG client componets. UAG offers the equivalent of Network Connector on Windows 7 by using SSTP.

- Yes it does and with IAG 3.7 SP2 Update 2 , IE 8 would be fully supported unless you have a particular concern about win 7 compatibility.
Faisal :> - Faisal,
Are you saying that IAG 2007 SP2 Update 2 will enable the following:
Internet Explorer 8 support
Windows 7 Whale Client Component support
If so, do you know if the Windows 7 Whale Client Component support includes the Network Connector? Eric,

Hi Bob,
I am late to the thread, but since it originates from my webcast, let me try to add some extra clarity here (or confuse you more). As Ran/Faisal already said, IE8 will be fully supported in Update2 (btw, it is supported today in backward compatibility mode)
For client components, story is more complex. We haven't finalized yet our decision to support Win7 on IAG (if and when) - likely, this will not happen before UAG RTM. There are good news, though - UAG client components are tested to fully interoperate with IAG 3.7 SP2 server. And, UAG client components are supported on Win7. So, even today if you get hold of our beta2 and deploy UAG client components (note - they are still in beta, but so is Win7 - RC only) - this shoudl work for your IAG.
Now, even more complex story - NC. We will not support NC on Win7 - we are using SSTP instead. So, for that, you will really have to upgrade to UAG once it is available
Hope this helps,
Oleg
- Hello Oleg,
I am right in the middle of deploying Celestix IAG 2007 appliances (with sp2 and update 2) however we are also doing aggresive pilot of windows 7 so incompatibilty is frustrating here. Would like to know the current state of windows 7 compatibility plans for IAG 2007 as compared to timeline of GA availability of final UAG version
thanks,
-Jason - hi,
official windows 7 support IS NOT in iag sp2 update 2. it came in a later update.
you can only use a workaround (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/forefrontedgeiag/thread/a7ca54cc-60e7-467a-961c-fc4b32151249) to use iag apps, but network connector didn´t work with this workaround, sorry.
final uag availability is planed to beginn 2010, rtm should be in middle december, in my informations
Kind regards Joerg
