Direct Access and Remote Assistance

Hello, I am running Direct Access via Windows Server 2012. Everything is working except I can't initiate Remote Assistance while a client is on Direct Access. It works fine when the client is on the intranet. Also, I have created the firewall rules for Public/Private firewall profiles for Remote Assistance and have set allow Edge traversal. I can RDP, and use configuration manager remote tools, just fine, but remote assistance fails. It appears to pass the first stage of connecting where it says connecting to selected users. Then the full screen remote assistance window opens and it hangs on "Attempting to connect" and no pop-up requesting control appears on the client system. Eventually it times out and states "Remote Assistance can't make the connection". Any thoughts? Am I missing anything? I have already read through and tried suggestions at the threads below:

Hi healthyCamper
What steps did you take, when you had this working?

Check this link:
My inital test worked, but nothing since then. I've tried reconstructing the GPO to no avail.
