Answered UAG - Application URL of 'Other Web Application'

    Hi

As part of our UAG Portal I'd like to publish a link to an external web site (say for the example of this thread - Microsoft.com). This is cosmetic really, mainly there just so users have an easy link to the site.

I go to 'Other Web Application (Portal Hostname)' and fill in all details, ending up with an Application URL reading 'http://microsoft.com'.

After saving and activating the trunk, an application appears as expected, but when I hover over it, the link reads 'https://<trunkname>/uniquesig<long hash of numbers>', not 'http://microsoft.com' as I would expect.

Can anybody explain why the link from the Application URL field does not appear when I hover over the application in the Portal home page?

    Thanks

    Andrew

if you want to cosmetically publish to an external website, you should put a fake server/path/port in teh web servers tab.  Use 1.2.3.4 / 80/443.  Then on teh portal link tab, put the real link to teh external website like http://microsoft.com.  Since there is then no webservers tab that has a server/path/port that tells UAG to rewrite microsoft.com, the link should be provided as-is to the client..
