Discussion how does client reach NLS server

    I am prettry new to direct access.

    Piece of Information I would like to understand is when client connects to internet how does it reach NLS server ?

    I mean is there any default settings that says when your laptop reboot it should reach nls/webserver first to check connectivity ?

    Sor for Dumb question ?

    Hi

    When your laptop is connected to Internet, it must not be able to access the NLS. Iy you have a look in your NRPT table (NETSH.EXE NAMESPACE SHOW POLICY), you will see that your NLS is referenced but no IPv6 DNS address associated. This means that you cannot resolve your NLS while connected in DirectAccess. When your laptop is connected on your LAN, it must be able to access the NLS because thats the condition to disable the NRPT and DirectAccess by extension.

    When you generate your configuration with the wizard, your NLS is always included in your NRPT as an exception. So you have noting to do.
