I try to install kb 978297 on a sbs 2008 with exchange sp 2. I launch the install and it stop after 2 sec. with the error code 8007F117. I downloaded the kb outside of windows update and try to install with same result.

Anybody have a fix for that condition?

    Hi Borreltje and lwoody7110,

Thank you for the update and patience.

I have discussed with my colleague and now there is a workaround this problem by setting the following key in the registry.

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LicenseInfoSuites\SmallBusiness and under SmallBusiness create ConcurrentLimit DWORD value and set it to 750 decimal.

    Regards,

    Nick Gu - MSFT

Thank for the reply, the\licenseInfosuites\ key is missingin the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. iS IT THE GOOD KEY?

    Hi there,

Has this actually worked?  I have been having the same problem and when I go to change the registry with this info, my server crashes.  On more than one occasion......

Being a newbie to this all I could be doing something wrong.  Should I be making the change while in a safe mode or something?  It almost seems as though the server is using the settings while I am trying to make a change....

    HELP!!!!!! :)

HELP OVER HERE TOO!  I have the same problem as Craig.  I tried the solution above, and just like Craig, my server crashed (blue screen).  I tried it 3 times and all 3 times my SBS2008 crashed each single time.  HELP!
