    Hello,

Maybe a dumb question but i've checked the user manual and lots of other info but cannot seem to find the answer with 100% certainty.
One of our clients wishes to use Forefront for their new Exchange 2007 servers. They run F-Secure on all servers as a file system scanner.
My question: Do you install forefront on top of the already existing virus scanner (i.e. forefront only does Mail DB/Mailbox protection) or do we need to remove F-secure and then install Forefront (i.e. forefront also scans local disks for virusses and has an on-access scanner). Our client says it's the first scenario, but before I completely ruin a perfectly good 2007 installation, I would like to be sure.

I hope someone can answer this question definitively.

    Regards,

    Erwin

    Hi Erwin,

Forefront for Exchange only scanns the exchange store and not the server itself. So you can/should leave F-Secure on the machine.

    Christian,

    Many thanks!
I just wanted confirmation of this since I have once seen the end result of two file system virus scanners on one system :-)

Good to know there is no issue now.

    Thanks,

    Erwin
