    Hi All,

    I have just tried to install FSE 2010 RC on Exchange 2010 but i got an error. Error message is;

    "Starting machine preparation: "fsemachineprep"
Exchange 2010 Hub and/or Mailbox roles have been detected. Configuring Exchange
    management roles.
A fatal error occurred running "fsemachineprep". Please either check that you ha
ve Exchange Administrator rights (or equivalent) or ask your Enterprise Administ
rator to run the machine preparation tool. The exception message is: Security gr
oup "Hygiene Management" was not found. Exchange management roles could not be c
    onfigured.
"fsemachineprep" did not complete successfully. Please see the event log for details"

There is no Hygiene management role on my Exchange 2010 organization, and account that i use for installation is member of enterprise admin and Exchange Organization admin.

I've heard that issue is relevant bug id 80869 but i'm not sure.

    Thanks in advance

I have resolved this issue by installing Exchange 2010 RC instead of Exchange 2010 Beta. FSE successfuly installed.

    Gokhan,

I'm running EX2010 RC, using full enterprise / domain admin account, but I still receive the same error message.

Any other idea on this issue?

    Kind regards,

    Peter

    Hi Peter,

Did you use built in Administrator account for installation? As far as i know there will be a new release for fix this issue.

    Kind Regards,

    Gokhan

    All,

Issue have been resolved in the meantime; letting a night passing by between EX setup and FSE setup solved it I guess.

However, I bumped into a new issue with EX2010 RC and FSE 2010 RC again last week at a customer site... all of a sudden, the Exchange Server wasn't running anymore (couple of services were down, as well as some FSE services were down); no databases visible anymore, no recipient mailboxes visible,...

A lot of error messages in the event log, referring to Forefront for Exchange...

The "drastic" solution I used was removing FSE, and Exchange started working again.

Anyone else seing this behaviour? I'm a but anxious for re-installing the FSE 2010 RC again on this box, as we are pre-building the production environment for migration next week (when Exchange RTM is available) :)

    Grtz,

    Peter
