ILM 2007 Feature Pack 1 supported directories
ILM 2007 Feature Pack 1 supported directories
- I have a newbie question regarding supported directories in ILM 2007 Feature Pack 1 which i have downloaded as 180 day trial from Microsoft to test things out.
On this page: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver/ilm2007/faq.mspx#EHD there are plenty of management agents listed.
My Question is if the "Feature Pack 1" trial version also supports all of this directories. Because i have read in the "Sams Windows Server 2008 UNLEASHED" book something else, please see bellow:
"This version is as functional as ILM 2007, except for the fact that it only supports synchronization and provisioning between Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and AD LDS, and not to the other supported directories of ILM 2007"
I need directory support for Oracle DB 9 and Microsoft SQL server 2008 to test things out. Is that possible with FP1 trial edition of ILM 2007?
Thank you very much for your answers.

- You're confusing ILM 2007 FP1 (Identity Lifecycle Manager 2007 Feature Pack 1) with IIFP (Identity Integration Feature Pack - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=d9143610-c04d-41c4-b7ea-6f56819769d5&displaylang=en).
ILM 2007 FP1 supports Oracle 9i as stated at the URL you quoted. I know that it also supports SQL 2008 as the datastore but can't recall for sure whether the SQL MA will work against a SQL 2008 server with the SQL MA. I'm fairly certain that it will.

The SQL Server MA might indeed work against SQL Server 2008, however, at this moment that is not supported. You can verify this in the FAQ.

- Thank you very much for quick responses!
Indeed i have mixed ILM 2007 FP1 (Identity Lifecycle Manager 2007 Feature Pack 1) with IIFP (Identity Integration Feature Pack).
Now i understand, i really appreciate your both answers.
