Code 2 windows update encountered an unknown error. recieved this error while trying to upgrade to internet explorer 9 from IE 8 on Windows 7 64 bit

Saturday, June 30, 2012 5:14 PMI have tried turning off firewall and all internet security. I have tried downloading and installing from website as well. The error occurs when it is in the middle of installing. I have restarted multiple times. I have confirmed that I am downloading the correct version. and I do have windows 7 64 bit.

Let us try to download and install Internet Explorer 9 manually in Clean Boot environment.1. Download the installation file of IE9.

2. Boot into Clean Boot environment.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
3. Please try to install IE9 again. If you still encounter the error message during installation process, please collect the screenshot for me or provide the detail error message.
In addition, providing the windowsupdate.log file will be helpful.Kim Zhou
