My IE8 has become locked to a Microsoft "Safety and Security Center" page and I cannot set my previous home page as the default. Every time I set the previous homepage as the default, it reverts back to the Microsoft page. This has just happened within the last day or two. I have run McAfee and Microsoft virus detection software on the full sustem, and neither have found any virus problems. The issue is annoying. What do I do to get this corrected?

Hi,
Please try to use this method to change the home page:
Start > Run...
Type regedt32 and hit enter. This starts the Registry editor.
Go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MainIn the right pane you should see a value for Start Page. Does it match the value you just entered? You can change that value here.
Please note: You’d better backup your registry before you want to change it.
